Lake braddock is as corrupt as they come including the athletic director. Nothing will be done i promise you that. Funny thing is mark martino refuses to sign off for kids to be pupil placed at other schools but sure as hell will take whoever he pleases. I wish these boys luck at LB but to the parents please make sure you have upper hand with the skank athletic director and watch what you say to him he lies.

Why does LB take everyone else's trash?

They also hired that Asst principal Hernandez who hacked into her husband's FCPS email account so she could confirm he was sleeping with a teacher.

I hope the kids at LB are getting some morality lessons from some normal staff members there.

What a bunch of misfits running this school.

Caleb Henderson, one of the area’s top sophomore quarterbacks, and his brother Jon Henderson, a junior linebacker, have transferred to Lake Braddock from West Potomac, according to their father, former West Potomac Coach Eric Henderson.

The Hendersons decided to make the switch after West Potomac released Eric Henderson from his duties as the Wolverines’ head football coach on March 7. The move generated a backlash and protest from some parents in the West Potomac community, and Eric Henderson said last month he believed it was best to remove Caleb and Jon from the Alexandria school. The pair began classes at Lake Braddock last Tuesday afternoon.

“They are both excited,” Eric Henderson wrote in a text message.

Caleb Henderson, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound sophomore, has drawn heavy recruiting interest from Maryland, Virginia Tech, Virginia and North Carolina. After taking over as starter during last season, Henderson passed for 2,403 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading the Wolverines to the Virginia AAA Northern Region Division 6 semifinals, where they lost to then-undefeated Westfield, 42-34.

Last month, both Eric and Caleb Henderson said the family’s intention was to have the brothers transfer to Lake Braddock, the Burke school that produced 2010 All-Met Offensive Player of the Year Michael Nebrich, who set a Virginia single-season record with 4,968 all-purpose yards. Nebrich plays for Connecticut.

“It’s my dad’s decision, it’s a great school,” Caleb Henderson wrote in a text message on March 19. “And I want to win states.”

Eric Henderson taught at Lake Braddock from 2002 to 2004 and also was high school teammates for one year with Bruins Coach Jim Poythress at Fort Hunt High in Alexandria.

“Jim Poythress is a great coach, they’ve been tremendously successful, they work hard and they have good kids over there, I know that firsthand, I taught them,” Eric Henderson said in March. “At the end of the day it was about where both boys fit, where both boys feel welcome and where they can just concentrate on being 16 or 17 year old boys and not have to defend their father. That’s a burden I don’t think they need.”

These kids are both just about the most arrogant kids i have ever had the displeasure of walking the halls of WP with. All caleb ever did was act like the big man on campus; he started shit with other students, complained when a teacher actually had the nuts to stand up to him and his fat fuck of a father.

People who say they knew caleb for years and that he is a good kid, I feel sorry for you. He probably just acted like a good kid around adults...but he never acted like that when he was in his own environment.

Sure, he is a talented QB and Westpo will probably go 0-for this season, but the team, school and community is better without these good for nothing assholes on around. Jon is a different story. He is a good kid with a decent character. But Caleb is not like Jon. Caleb will not amount to anything in his football career if he doesn't learn he isn't the center of the universe.

So because the Dad got fired from his position at WP he can pupil place his kids where he wants them to go? What the hell is going on in FCPS!! Why does this guy get to place his kids whereever he feels like, and EVERYONE else has to move their families to get into a public school they would prefer? Who signed off on this BS?

Read the rest of the forum. Kids were denied pupil placement, they are moving into LB's district. No special treatment, seems fair.

The point is the Henderson HAVE NOT yet moved into the LB boundaries. They may move when their house sells. This opportunity is NOT afforded to everyone in FCPS. Eric Henderson is getting special treatment because he is being hired to teach at LB next school year. Since his family hasn't moved, his kids should be pupil placed to the school nearest their address which is Hayfield because of AP BUT they are at LB because of football. EH shopped his kids around to Westfield and Centreville. Don't forget Caleb is the best player in the region and Coach Poythress wants to win a state championship. His returning quarterbacks can't get the job done. It appears WP is glad the Hendersons are gone and if things were done legally there would be no problem with the Hendo boys at LB. The LB principal and AD deny others pupil placements - what is fair for some should be fair for others. FCPS is so two faced with the policies - They have no backbone.

Not to sound like a naysayer (no offense), but are you sure the Hendersons haven't moved? How do you know they haven't? I mean, what are the rules? Do they have to PHYSICALLY be in the house? I am pretty sure there is some rule around the intent to move. I am bruin proud, but this sure is getting attention for the weirdest reasons.
What is your motive? I'd love to see the best players in the region at LB, as long as its fair. I'm an attorney, and I believe there is a grace period for when the moving family needs to move by (I think it's a 6 month window). This is for ANYONE, not just star football players and former coaches. And, by the way, are you sure they haven't moved??

This talk on here is very disturbing. I have never seen this type of behavior from individuals. Reading the messages, there needs to be a lot of growing up by everyone.

Like any other kids, Caleb and John need to have a life that is not introduced to such messages, the family needs a break AND Henderson and anyone else needs to back off of West Potomac. Remember folks, this is suppose to be for the kids. What happens amoung the addults needs to be kept to the adults. I am very sad that so many people are compelled to say such hurtful and negative comments that only degrade our system, school and the kids.

Shame on you for being weak and doing this.

The discriptions that you gave about Eric are not of much class. You are correct in your comments about center of attention with any kids or adult. Playing in a team sport is just that - team. If you are not able to relate to the team your need to play an individual sport.

Caleb is a good kid, he has matured just like others and will continue to do so. You are correct about Jon, he is different - but is that not what makes us individuals?

How about turning this conversation around to what can we do to make this work out for the kids and community. NO ONE likes to be put in this position.

Henderson tried to get his kids into Cville before he pimped them to LB. Cville already put the hurting on him last year when he threw 2 interceptions one for a 99 yard pick 6 TD. Next year will be nothing new, another beat down by the Wildcats on the Bruins. 2 times in 2011 at least 1 time in 2012, twice again if they make the playoffs.

First, vacancies just went out on April 30th and that was for in-county transfers.

Second, you did not just graduate from college unless "just graduated" means fall semester.

Third, when you aren't hired by FCPS they ignore you - no letter, no phone call saying better luck next time, nothing.

Fourth, why would the author be FCPSteacher when he isn't an FCPS teacher.

If you are going to be full of crap when you post, at least make it funnier or more believeable. Or include something about a helicopter, CERT, a police scanner, or the WNC.

All I know is we kicked Caleb and whatever QB's ass WP trotted out to the tune of 49-10. Both QBs threw 2 picks, Caleb started the game and #12 came in after he threw his first pick.

Caleb couldnt get anything done even against our second team D. #12 threw the only TD pass. How about them facts!

Caleb started not #12 Ruiz. Ruiz came in after Caleb couldn't do anything and threw the first of 2 picks. Ruiz threw the the only TD pass of the day for WP. Cville will do the same thing to the kid no matter what school he ends up playing for. Which right now looks like LB, unless his old man gets a better deal and he moves him again.

are fine. :)

But changing them and then being all pissy when you have to revert to the real ones (which are obviously still in your favor) is kindof fun.

Charles Ruiz 8-15-2 167 Mitch Ferrick 3-8-1 79
Caleb Henderson 6-16-1 93

Centreville had a ton of great talent and coaching and was a great game for a 10th grader to learn from.

Henderson fumbled once and threw 2 picks!! If u r gonna spit facts know what the Hell u r talking about. Sounds to me from your stats Ruiz should have played instead of Henderson. Threw the only TD pass the team had and moved the team on less snaps.

Ferrick threw 2 TD passes and we ran up and down the field on you boys. We had our second team O and D in by the end of the 3rd quarter.

What schools have offered scholarships to him?

He doesn't need any players from WP at LB to help him. Just needs his coach Daddy Henderson clearing the way for him. Daddy will be hired by LB principal and athletic director to protect Caleb and keep teachers, parents and other kids from complicating Caleb's way to a college scholarship. Total BS. Let Daddy Henderson keep shopping his kids around and leave LB. Do the Hendersons live in Burke yet/

College scholarships are offered to talented athletes who pass NCAA clearinghouse
qualifications. Simple as that. ADs, principals and parents are not part of the equation.

How exactly is it cheating? There hasn't been one game played. Poythress is no dummy, he's not going to ruin his program for one player and his dad, due diligence is being done trust that, and Martino is all about self preservation, and will do nothing to tarnish his rep.

The system is in place and has been for years. If they have the documentation to get the kid into the school (which is like pulling teeth by the way) then he is there legally. Kids transfer for various reasons, but I don't see how these kids could have stayed at WP, the admin has had it out for their dad for years, who's to say that the kids weren't next.

What parent on this earth won't do what it takes to put their child in the best possible position to succeed? I guess I'm missing something here, why all the hate?

Yeah! Henderson family is leaving Ft. Hunt this weekend. So long, farewell, now they are legitimately LB's problem. And I am sure the admin at WP had many, many, many reasons for getting rid of Henderson. Believe Henderson had a lot to do with it for his manipulative ways. Serve the kool aid to all those LB people. Yeah! So long, farewell. WP football lives!

Let Caleb play football as long as his transfer is legit. Why is LB principal giving Eric Henderson special treatment for a teaching job? part of an earlier deal?? This does not smell right.

Hey I hear the henderson qb kid has 13 scholarship offers from good D1 schools. Also heard Ohio State is ready to offer him a verbal commitment. Is this kid that good? Where has he received legitimate offers from? Any offers for the linebacker brother?

Henderson the QB will be the greatest QB to ever come out of NOVA.
Every college in the country will offer him. He has at least 12 offers right now
He will carry lake braddock to the state championship by himself for the next 2 years.

The linebacker henderson has a few offers as well, i think they are 1AA schools

LB needs more than a great QB to win the tough NR, let alone beat teams such as Smith, Woodside, Bayside and Hermy. LB went went 7-5 last year and was ranked 42 in VA behind a bunch of D6s and even D5s such as Phoebus, SoCo and Yorktown. I'd love to see a great aerial show and wish LB the best. It's just hard to see this team having enough D and speed to win it all. Not even the great LB teams of the past were able to do that. Virginia is a big state and has a number of marquee QBs, including Bucky Hodges of Salem (6'5/225).

Money and irregularities are a non issue.
Hayfield brought us on to win.
We're going to wipe out everyone this year.

The hubris exhibited here will surely be the undoing of the once great Hayfield program. Remember 4 years ago when the states bound hayfield basketball team was disqualified! Prediction: South Lakes will win the Liberty Conference this year, the honest way.

If you are going to hate on Hendo come out from hiding. Look back at the old posts here where LB was accused of this and that….where were you when the Hendersons moved? Did you apologize? Just firing arrows from your place of safety makes you what?

If Hayfield is cheating show some evidence/ IF you just think they might be then call out Hendo by stating your name.
For example, My name is Joe Blow and I hate Hendo because he …..I have no evidence of these accusation but I hate fat people and I will whip his ass…If you are afraid of Hendo say that then show the evidence. Otherwise you area pussy.

Coach Henderson has proven that he is one of the best coaches in area.
He won the conference title last year and will do so again this year.

They have a lot of athletes and they could make a run at the states, but I am not so sure about the assistants he has, all of them seem to lack experience and knowledge of the game.

This could be an issue if not corrected. But, I am sure that under his guidance, he will get them up to speed.

not only that, but I heard Henderson is totally responsible for global warming and recruiting the aliens that created the crop circles in the 1980's.

While he was recruiting these aliens, it is totally documented that they were supposed to create the crop circles on Uranus because that's where they lived! Total recruiting violation. Henderson cheats again!

..... That's where the hendersons originally (allegedly) went TO as the result of a firing from West Potomac. Supposedly Henderson was a terrible coach at west Potomac. Don't remember the name of the guy who replaced Henderson, but he was there a couple of years and headed for the hills. Think their record was about even, despite having a real talented athlete on the team in Pierson-El. Actually, just looked their record up.
2011 8-2 (1-1 states) (Henderson)
2012 6-4 (no states) (other guy)
2013 4-6 (no states) (other guy)
2014 4-6 (no states) (other other guy)
Pierson-El, by the way, is PLAYING for Nebraska and doing really well.

Last season, Henderson was head coach of hayfield. Didn't follow them. But just looked up their record on the hayfield website. Went 7-3 last season following a 5-5 season.
Not a sermon, just a thought.

Hendo's lying and cheating ways will catch up with him soon enough -- it has to be kept to a whisper campaign because he'll steamroll anyone who dares to challenge him, just re-read the emails where he put in writing that he would wreck a student's future for daring to question him.

Ya'll shouldn't pick on Henderson so much, he's a fine play caller. It's just when he has to work with people that's there's a problem.

So long as he's not being held up as an example for kids to emulate or has to interact with other staff, he's a wonderful asset.

Give him a break, he's only human.
