Sorry Meeper wrong pope.
No you have to have a ticket to see the pope. Our parish had 100 tickets available. People had to be a registered member of the parish and could send their name in for 2 tickets. Then there was a drawing. People were told that if they were elderly or could not stand or be outside for 8 hrs, not to try for tickets. Also they were told not to sell them.

A friend of mine did get 2 tickets. I am anxious to see how the outdoor mass will be.
