Good Deeds Day 2012

Good Deeds Day was Sunday, March 25. Over 150,000 people around the world participated at different events to give back to the community.
Over 60 projects around the D.C. area were coordinated by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
Some of the activities were making chew toys for dogs, trail mix for shelters, blankets, biscuits for dogs, Challah (Bread) covers for the military in Israel, and Passover bags for local group homes. There was also park cleanups and groups painted buildings.
Fairfax County Supervisor John Cook was at the event. He said, “A lot of what I do as a supervisor is giving back and I am here to encourage volunteers and thank them for giving back.”
At the Gesher Jewish Day School location in Fairfax, after they volunteered, kids were treated to drinks, snacks, and a concert by The Mama Doni Band. At the concert everybody was on their feet, dancing and singing.
Everyone who volunteered at these events had lots of fun and a great time while helping people in need.
