Roy Helu has been placed on injured reserve (turf toe) and Ryan Grant has been signed to fill his roster spot,,,

Apparently Evan Royster is also hurting,,,

Alfred Morris is the only healthy back the Redskins have which is interesting since he's the one who's been playing in all the games,,,

There is probably a good chance we have seen the last of Helu in a Redskin's uniform,,,

UPDATE: Tim Hightower was going to be re-signed but apparently has had a set back in his recovery and will be getting another procedure on his knee,,,

Prediction day!

This weekend the Redskins travel to Tampa,,,on paper it looks like one of the handful of games they could win, except they are 1-7 against the Bucs the last 8 time they've played them,,,

Having Tampa's ex coach should help, but the Bucs are #1 against the run and the Redskins can't trust their line,,,RGIII will have to throw

Which brings me to this,WOULD YOU PUT DESMON BRISCOE IN THE GAME ALREADY!
He knows this team's personel, and has the red zone gift of grab!
I know I say it every week, but this should be the week he gets in the game,,,

Defense will have a struggling offense to shut down, but struggling offenses look foward to getting better against Washington,,

I say it's a shootout

REDSKINS 30

TAMPA 24

All the division rivals are on prime time this week

NY Giants @ Philly,,,one of em's gonna lose, so this game will be fun to watch no matter what,,,
Personally, I hate the Eagles so I hope they get crushed

NY Giants 52

Eagles 10

Dallas at home against Chicago on Monday night,,,
These two teams are very similar, Top defenses, and offenses that shpuld be better,,,QB's that can't be trusted, recievers on probation, mid level RBs,,
Buccaneers showed Chicago how to beat the Cowboys last week, and they will,,,

Bears 24

Cowboys 17

This week we take a look at a game featuring two QB's that may not be around next season,,,
Oakland and Denver,,,I know both franchises have signed these guys beyond this season but if Denver doesn't make the playoffs and Oakland ends up picking in the top 5 of next years draft, I think they both will be gone,,Peyton will retire and Carson will quit,,,Denvers at home so they win,,,

Denver 24

Oakland 10

You can now go call Vegas with little or no confidence of winning with these picks,,but that's what makes it fun!

This just in,,,

Filed under: ARE YOU F****IN KIDDING ME!!!!

A.Robinson and B Meriweather injured in pre-game collision

Robinson and Meriweather were in the end zone during warmups and Robinson bent over to pick up a football and as he stood up, Meriweather’s left knee struck the receiver’s head, according to people who were on the field at the time.

Both players initially went down after the collision. Meriweather, who has been sidelined all season with a right knee injury, limped to the locker room. Robinson remained down on the field longer and was tended to by Redskins trainers and Tampa Bay medical staff. Eventually, Robinson was helped up and he walked slowly to the locker room.

There is no word yet on either player’s availability for the game.

Great,,,the only good thing that will come of this is now Briscoe may get some playing time,,,

For the record,,,2 safeties signed, no games played

An odd story coming out of Tampa Bay, where Washington Redskins wide receiver Aldrick Robinson and strong safety Brandon Meriweather are both inactive Sunday following a collision during pregame warmups.

Quarterly Report

First off, RGIII is the real deal without question,

103 QB rating after 4 games

Worth everything the Redskins gave up for him

Big arm, running, leadership,,, GUTS

When has any football player with this much hype lived up to it,,,esp. in D.C.

The big surprise is Washington is 3rd in overall offense, 1st in rushing

But 29th in defense,,,so much for the defense being "fixed"

Co-offensive MVP is Alfred Morris, 5th in rushing yards
He runs with an attack mentality, like a weapon against the defenses that face him
He is a Baaaaddddd man and should be feared

Washington is 2-2 but has been in every game until the last play of the game

Some improvement on defense and the team will be competitive in the division

Finally, there is something to cheer about,,,

Interesting fact brought up on Lavar and Dukes,,,

The pick used to select Alfred Morris was the one obtained in the trade for Donovan McNabb,,,

Sure, the Redskins gave up a second for Donovan, but Morris is as good or better than most of the 2nd round picks in the league,,,

I was at Fedex last Sunday and the Skins looked broke.

I haven't seen a crowd so psyched there in years, but the first pass play from the Bengals showed how fucking suspect our secondary is and shut the stadium up fast.

Seeing Carlos Rogers with a recovered fumble for TD in the highlight reel doesn't feel too great either.

We are going to see some much better offense this year and I like RG3 and he has the spontatniety to run, Morris is a great addition too.

I fear we are going to see a lot of uneven games though... nervewracking 42-35 wins (or defeats) and a lot more breakout long bombs at the expense of our backfield.

And I hope the fuck Griff doesn't get hit and banged up.

I will say this,,

Not re-signing Carlos Rogers has had one of the bigger negative effects on the defense,,,but it didn't matter quite as much last year,,,

He is definately one of the key players on the 49er D, and a big reason for thier success,,,

And to think, the biggest complaint against him was he didn't actually intercept the ball when it hit him in the hands,,,

Love to have some one just knocking the ball down now,,,

I think Kyle's playcalling has improved with the talent on the team and the young players "can do" attitude,,,

He can call a balanced attack and pick and choose when to go for the big plays,,

They think the plays will work and be successful, so they play hard and execute and give that little extra effort,,,

Much like Champ Baily, Carlos didn't WANT to in DC. He also refused to get his eyes checked and/or wear contacts. Once he did, wow what do you know, he can catch! The deal he signed with the 49ers was a cheap, one year deal. Knowing his career was on the line, he played well enough to get a decent 4 year contract.

Prediction day,,,

Falcons are coming to town

Atlanta has established themselves as a top 3 team at this point,,,

There is not a matchup on the field that looks good for the Redskins, esp when Washington is on defense,,,

Blitzing Matt Ryan is just not a good idea, there will be a rookie at the 3rd corner position and the Falcons use 3 WR most of the time,,,

Washington needs for it to rain,,,real hard

Really really hard,,,

The only chance the Redskins have is to run the ball, and run well,,,long drives,,,and a couple of turmovers on D

Pray for rain,,,

Washington 27

Falcons 24

The Giants play the Browns in what should be an easy win for NY
Except the Giants are really beat up, esp at receiver,,,

Eli and Coughlin aren't losing to these jokers under any circumstances

Giants 24

Browns 10

Philly and Pittsburgh is the most evenly matched game this week

Both teams are kinda at the same point, no ones really sure if either one is really any good,,,but they probably are

Eagles have gotten lucky every week and won some squeakers

The Steelers lost to the Raiders, not a good sign

Vick turns it over too much to trust him against a team that takes advantage of turnovers,,

Steelers 24

Eagles 17

Last weeks picks should have built you a little nest egg,

Time to go Humpty Dumpty with this weeks picks,,,

I, for one, am shocked that Griffin got hurt. I mean, the offensive line has been more solid than the Great Wall of China, and the Shanahans never call "Win now at all cost" plays that leave him out to dry. This doesn't even take into account the fact that RGIII is indestructible!

I'm at an absolute loss!

And the safe play calling didn't exactly lead to a lot of points

Can't blame that loss on the defense,,,

RG3 should never have talked so big about "getting right back up" and "not playing scared my whole life". This little kid has a few games of success and thinks he's got the NFL wrapped up in his pocket. He will change his style now, or he will not last for more than 1 NFL season.

Looks pretty accurate, I hate to get into "what ifs" but if RGIII doesn't go out with an injury I think the Redskins win the game by that exact score,,,

And don't forget, Cudiff's miss led to a Falcons TD,,,a -10 pt play,,,

Did the Falcons win by 10?

I hear ya. This game on Sunday is going to be very telling. The difference between 2-4 and 3-3 is huge.

3-3 and you’re still hanging in there, 2-4 and you’re season might as well be over. To make matters worse, the schedule is brutal down the stretch.

It would be really nice if…

A. The Redskins could win at home.
B. They could go on a streak of more than one win, say maybe… two in a row. Is that too much to ask?

I heard RG3 has been cleared for practice today so that’s positive. Have to say I like Cousins just based on what I saw this preseason. He had a rough outing on Sunday but with some preparation, he might not be half bad. The more time he gets, the better. Rex is as good as gone next year and with RG3 playing like he does (with reckless abandon, though that may change), the Redskins need a solid backup.

Not sure what happened with Gano but I’m praying Cobra Kai is the answer at PK.

Yea thats pretty accurate except entirely wrong since you had the wrong team winning.

Now the what if game, well if the Falcons didnt drop 15 passes they would have scored a hell of a lot more. Works both ways

You had a decent write up for a prediction then out of no where predicted the skins to win for no reason when youre own preview gave every edge to the falcons

Prediction day,,,

Vikings come to town much more highly regarded after 5 weeks than they were at the beginning of the season,,,

Pretty sure most fans had this one as a win

This is a matchup of teams that will try to run the ball and both can,,,

Both teams will look for a few big plays from the passing game to get the advantage,,,and both can

Redskins play the run tough and may actually have an edge

The Vikings probably aren't as good as their record, and won't be taken lightly anymore

I predict a slugfest

Redskins 24

Vikings 20

Dallas at the Ravens

Garrett won't be coaching this team next year, Dallas just isn't clicking the way they should be able to on offense, I think the players know it too,,,

Ravens 24

Cowboyys 10

Detroit and Philly is a damn even matchup, Detriot's D should be fired up after the accusation of being over rated by "an NFL GM"

Tough game to pick, but until Vick stops coughing up the ball 3-4 times a game I can't pick them

Lions 24

Eagles 17

The big game Sunday is of course the Giants and the 49ers

The 49ers have been yappin and talkin crap about the Giants for months, this is their superbowl revenge game etc,,

It's going to be demoralizing when a beat up Giants team kicks their can in front of the home crowd in San Fran,,,again

Giants 24

49ers 13

By now, you should have Vegas on your speed dial,,,

I will.however. gloat like a madman on the rare occasions they do win,,,

Hello Monday

So, as I PREDICTED, it was a slugfest,,,won by a big play

Again the defense looked good, dare I say,,,,,real good

The RGIII trade looks like the 'Skins robbed the Rams now, and this years draft isn't going to have any blue chip players around the 15-20 pick area

I will also say that Trent Williams has turned the corner to becoming great,,,
When he decided to play through the pain against the Bucs, for the team, for the fans, something seems to have clicked
He is now the player we thought he would be

I will eat a little crow pie now too,,,for months I said Desmon Briscoe should be on the field,,, he gets his chance, and drops an easy pass for a big gain
I wanted to cry

This team is starting to come together,,,

Week seven, and the Redskins travel to NY to play for the division lead

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000080248/article/robert-griffin-iiis-electric-redskins-run-lights-up-dc?module=HP11_headline_stack

Robert Griffin III's electric Redskins run lights up D.C.

In another time, the Washington Redskins would've figured out a way to lose Sunday's game.

A 19-point advantage had been whittled to five in the fourth quarter. The Minnesota Vikings had swung the momentum in a big way. In the bad old days, this all would've played out in inevitable fashion.

But that was before Robert Griffin III came to town.

Facing third-and-6 from his own 24, Griffin took a shotgun snap, dropped back five yards, then tucked the ball and shot between a narrow gap between his center and left guard. Once he got to the edge, he was gone.

There are louder buildings in the NFL than FedEx Field, but few stadiums this season could match the decibel level as RG3 galloped across the goal line to complete his jaw-dropping, 76-yard touchdown run for the dagger of a 38-26 win.

Cam Newton might be the only other NFL quarterback capable of that run right now, though we doubt even that. We already knew Griffin was more than just "quarterback fast," but here was definitive proof. Vikings safety Jamarca Sanford had the only legitimate shot to stop Griffin, but a bad angle gave him the same rear view as everyone else.

Griffin finished with 138 yards on the ground, the most by a quarterback since Michael Vick rushed for 166 yards for the Atlanta Falcons in 2006. Any argument over who's the most electrifying player in the NFL ends with the video above.

All year long we've been hearing how tough the Redskin's schedule is,,,

And it did look tough at the beginning of the season, but now?

The Redskins will face the toughest team on their schedule this weekend, and they beat them twice last year,, I do still respect/fear the Giants

But let's look at the rest

The Steelers-sorry not afraid of a team that gets stomped by the Titans

The Panthers-they were better last year

The Eagles-This looks like a team that has lost it and knows their coach is cooked

The Cowboys-it's about time we finish a game against Dallas, should have beat them twice last year

The Ravens- At the rate they're losing key defensive players this will be a shootout

The Browns- the Browns

Is it really going to be that shocking if Washington can go 6-4 against this group?

Playoffs may be a stretch, but a wild card is possible and 8-8,9-7 is starting to look likely,,

But that's why they play the games,,,

The thing about the Giants is, if you give them a reason to play, they show up,,,

Pretty sure they didn't think the Redskins were able to beat them last year, and they just didn't show up

I don't think they feared Rex or the offense in general

This year they want to show up RGIII, and make him fear them,,,

Shanahan knows that and will plan accordingly, we will see some stuff we haven't seen before this week, saved just for the Giants,,,

Prediction day,,,

Washington travels to NY this week,,,

I think the Giants played a high stakes game last week and really wanted to prove something, it's hard to be that intense two weeks in a row,,,

I don't doubt the Giants have some respect for RGIII's abilities, and most of their focus will be on him,,,

But they still don't really think the Redskins are any good,,,

The Giants tend to play down to their opponent, see the first quarter against the Browns,,,
They can also turn it on when they need to, see the other three quarters against the Browns

Washington will go for a slow grinding game plan of clock control and running game, and so will the Giants,,,both teams love that type of game

Forbath kicks four FG's and wins it for the Redskins on the last play of the game

Washington 26

NY Giants 24

Philadelphia has a bye this week, but still loses,,,

Dallas at Carolina is actually preety interesting

Dallas MUST win after last weeks heartbreaker, if they lose to a desperate 1-4 Panthers team, they will spiral out of control and Garrett may not even make it to the end of the season,,

He's done in Dallas anyway and every one knows it,,,John Gruden is coaching this team next year,,,

Carolina 30

Dallas 17

This week also has three absolutely crap games,,,

I call them, the draft derby

Tenn @ Buffalo,,,,Titans win

Cleveland @ Indy,,,Colts win

Jax @ Oakland ,,, Oakland wins

And the winner of the draft derby is Cleveland,,,Is there anybody that still thinks Weeden is any better than Colt McCoy?
They will get a chance to waste another No 1 on a QB this April,,

The other 5 teams will round out the other top 6 picks,,,

Leg whip? Really? They turned the ball over 5 times against the defending SB winners in their house, had a key injury, had some awful calls by the refs. With all that, they were in it at the end of the game and could have won. Tough loss but Griff is getting better each game and will own the division for years to come. Bank on it.

Cooley has had his time with the Skins, doubtful they would sign him. If no one else has picked him up yet why should the Skins. Better TE's are available. If you are going after Cooley why not reach way back and sign Clint Didier?

Cooley had offers from other teams, I think he was assuming at some point injuries or poor play would give him another opportunity to rejoin the Redskins,,

His veteran leadership could definately help, and he is also a good blocker

Niles Paul is a special teamer/back up TE until he proves otherwise,,,

I'm not saying he hasn't looked impressive. But making the leap to "owning the division for years to come" after a handful of games is classic Redskins Fan: take a current positive and set yourself up for disappointment by taking it to its extreme over the long-term and expecting (not just hoping for -- but expecting) a mega-positive in the future.

But that's why I love you guys.

I'm glad Cooley may be coming back, but I think I would have toughed it out with Paulsen and tried to pickup some fucking cornerbacks. It would be nice to have at least drawn a flag instead of getting smoked like we did on that pass.

Skins may not go anywhere, but the difference between this year and the last en is- this is fucking respectable, competetive football.

There are few of the shitty broken plays and dropped passes we had last year and while I was ready for Kyle Shanahans head, the play calling IMO has improved drastically in the past three weeks.

Always enjoy when people such as yourself come out of the woodwork after a loss, and are nowhere to be found after a win. Sure, it's only been three wins so far this year, but if you follow the thread, the anonymous, classless, cowards who chime in after a loss are always good for a laugh.

I’m don’t consider myself to be overly optimistic (though admit I may be) and I’m not sure what team you root for, but it’s hard not to be excited in the long term about a surprisingly exceptional rookie QB. Anyone would be ecstatic about their teams prospects with this kid.

Considering the QB carousel the Skins have had since Mark Rypien, he’s a real breath of fresh air. Barring a career altering injury, I stand by my statement. Time will tell, but I’m fairly convinced he’s only going to get better while other NFC QBs continue to decline. That equates to owning the division for years, my friend. ;)

Prediction day,,,

The game this week has been highly anticipated by local fans, mostly because of the bandwagon riding Steelers fans

They remind me of all the Cowboy fans in the 90's when Dallas was winning Super Bowls

There's still plenty of Cowboy fans around that just want to root for the enemy and irritate local fans, but these Steeler fans will dry up the first year Pittsburgh goes 3-13,,,

Personally I have nothing against the Steelers, I enjoy watching them pummell the Ravens, but this week they're the enemy

That said, the Redskins are getting the Steelers at a good time, they are beat up and sporting a dink and dunk offense,,
They are starting to play well anyway, but they are old and slow and that gives the Redskins a good chance to win,,,

I think Pittsburgh will try and go to a big play style O this week to take advantage of Washington's weakness in the secondary,,,

Redskins will score points against these geezers,,

Redskins 31

Steelers 24

Eagles get the Falcons,

Vick will want to show up in this game, if he's going to play well this year this will be the game, if the Eagles get crushed they're done,,,

They're done

Falcons 52

Eagles 3

Cowboys and the Giants

I guess we should be rooting for the Cowboys to bring the Giants down in the standings,,,

Can't do it,

Giants 24

Cowboys 17

Maybe Jason Garrett can be the OC for the Eagles new coach,,,

This weeks game of little or no interest

Hello Cleveland,,,

if San Diego finds a way to lose this game I wouldn't even let Norv on the plane home, either way both teams are looking for a new coach next year,,,

The Browns continue their pursuit of the #1 pick,,,

Yesterday on Lavar and Dukes, Sean Salisbury said "an inside source" claimed Jim Haslet is finished after this season no matter how the defense finishes, and that a member of the staff will be promoted,,,

I'm assuming that someone is Raheem Morris,,,

I'm wondering if that will be an improvement, isn't he in charge of the secondary? Isn't that the worst part of the defense? Wasn't this a better defense last year before he got here?

I don't see how Haslett will keep his job either, but maybe some other candidates should also be considered

Plenty of Head coaches will be getting fired after this season,,,

I don't think the Redskins can switch at this point, at least not completely,,

Shanahan will stick with the 3-4 and try to get the results they had last year,,

Unless some high profile DC comes to town and just takes over that side of the ball, and can craft the players he has into something decent, they probably can't change,,,

Skins are playing poorly against the Steelers. Down 20 - 6 at the half. The Steelers have held the Skins offense to 109 yards of total offense in the first half. RGIII is having a terrible day, just 5/13 for 58 yards. Looks like the 'Skins are done for the season. Time to start thinking about next year!

No, the recievers are having a terrible day, three BIG drops,,,

I am officially off the Desmon Briscoe bandwagon, and I'm not that impressed with Hankerson either,,,

I do expect them to play better in the 2nd half, but unless the defense can force a turnover that converts to a TD, it will be tough to get close, the Steelers are chewing up too much clock when they have the ball

As far as next year, probably a new DC and special teams coach,,,
