Just now got back from a minor outage - internet out - Sully Station area of Centreville (Chantilly, too, I guess).

Anyone else have that and notice it?

Mine is still out. Changing DNS doesn't solve it. I can connect to direct ip services such as instant messaging and Skype. Looks like port 80/443 on Cox is down

That explains it...no outage here in Chantilly but it's been slow and speedtest is showing 1-2Mbps where it's usually at least 10.

Mine was out for about 5-10 minutes just before the original post. No Internet anything since the cablemodem was completely offline. I called Cox but got tired fairly rapidly when the robot support woman started going down the wrong debug route AFTER the modem had come back up.

All I wanted was an "area status" announcement when I called - no joy.

BTW - I ran Speedtest just after everything came back and, on an idle fast amchine with a hardwired conenction to trouter then hardwired to modem, the speed was about 31Mbps down and 3 Mbps or so up.

Those are pretty standard speeds I've had for years during nonbusy times using that fast machine with little else running on it.
