Long Island is absolutely beautiful geographically, especially in the summer. Some of the best beaches around, fishing out of Montauk, it's great.
The only thing that makes Long Island suck is New Yorkers. If they could round up every one of those obnoxious socialist motherfuckers and take them 200 miles out to sea and dump them, then the island could become a world class resort.

I've lived in the top three counties on this list, in reverse order. They are all very nice places, with fairly small shithole sections.
