Sundays Snow- Predictions, Prepare, Closings

The weather is now saying that Fairfax County could get as much as eight inches of snow on Sunday afternoon. How much do you think?

0.3 - 1.0 inch of snow and freezing rain.

Fairfax County in its wisdom had salt sprayed all over county roads this morning. Complete waste of time, considering the hours of rainfall that will precede any sort of frozen precipitation tomorrow evening. How many dollars just going down the storm drain?

The weather folks really FAILED on this one, however, VDOT poured hundreds of thousands of gallons of beet juice on the roads. Heavy duty snowplows are staged on all highways in NOVA in anticipation of those lonely, wet flakes that may fall. If those lonely, wet flakes DO fall, they will promptly melt on the 45 degree roadways. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TAX DOLLARS!

Relax, Dwight. VDOT has budgeted the funds needed for a winter well in advance. With the extremely mild winter we've had thus far, the VDOT boys are just looking for an excuse for overtime. A botched weather forecast gives them this oppurtunity. Besides, they're not going to get blind-sided like they did with that Springfield Mixing Bowl fiasco a couple years ago.

Chance of snow now down to 20%.

What do those plow drivers do all night?
