auctly my favorite place would have to be farrish but its far away from me. The do the best work at a good price... but i was wondering what you all thought of any other places... which does the best qaulity work?

Farrish in Fairfax? No way..don't go. They tried to rip my girlfriend off to the tune of $2500 for a new rear diff. But somehow, the price dropped to $700 when I called and asked some basic questions.
Keep in mind that most (if not all) car dealer's rep's are commission based.
I take all of my cars to Curry's. They charge a little higher on labor costs, but I don't have to take my car back to fix the problem again. They have a few locations around the area, just google them.
The Shell station at Rolling Road and Old Keene Mille is very professional, as is CS Automotive in Springfield/Newington.
Dealer's are just freakin expensive and seem to try and oversell as much as they can. The only positive from going to a dealer is they usually guarantee their work/parts for 1 year/12,000 miles vs. 90 days or 1,000 miles from a shop.

I have also had some bad experiences with Farrish.
A year or two ago I went in for an oil change, i told them i was very busy and want to know if i could get right in, if not I would come back later. There was nobody there that day. It was a Monday afternoon and I was trying to get this done on my lunch hour. With no customers ahead of me I really did belive them when they said i could. So I dropped it off and went in the waiting room. I waited for about an hour and half and asked how things were going. The guy told me they hadn't started it yet because the guys just went to lunch. Man was i pissed!!!!!wait for an hour and a half and no service at all right after they told me they could fit me right in. I just took the car and left. I was furious. I let them know it too.

Dealers are for warranty work PERIOD.
Taking a car to a dealer for anything else is insane.
