Mason's Hopes look Dim for NCAA

Well it looks like all the hoopla for George Mason's basketball team is over. It doesn't look like they will get a bid to the NCAA tourney this year.

all they need to do is win the caa tournament and then they get an automatic bid. we'll see dont count them out yet.

I don't know what to make of Mason this year, they look like a different team everytime I see them. Very much capable of making another CAA tourney run like last year but I just don't know if they can string together 3 solid games.

VCU only gets an "at large" NCAA berth if they make it to the finals which they should. Otherwise, the CAA is a one bid conference.

I'd trade Mason's Final 4 banner for VCU's Duke win and another similar victory in this years NCAA's. That tourney run a couple of years ago is bigger than a major winning it all.

Saw the Patriots play against NU last night. They didn't look like the same team that went to the Final Four. They were really flat in the paint. I remember when Tony Skinn and Jai Lewis played. They would fight for the basket. The guys they have now seem to lack that passion.

They are very inconsistent. They let Hofstra take them to 2-OT but they can beat VCU. UNC Wilmington has given them fits this year. Not going to be an easy one tonight. Maybe that's what it takes for them to come out ready to go.

W&M has a very strong three point offense. UNC has a great team also. Most likely UNC and W&M in the championship game.

Tough call between UNC and W&M as to who might win. Interesting so see if W&M gets the bid to the NCAA tourney.

The Mason dream team with Jai Lewis was awesome to watch.

W&M chokes, so much for a Virginia Cinderella story this year. Then again the W&M basketball has never ever made it into the NCAA tourney. Damn academic college! LOL

Mason wins and gets another chance at the NCAA again. The jury is still out on if VCU will be in the NCAA. VCU maybe able to pull off an at large bid, but the CAA conference has been pretty weak this year.

Nice win for GMU #3 over W&M #5 as expected. Pats were solid at the foul line, but need to improve their end of game clock management. W&M was effective in getting GMU to move on defense on several occassions - something I'd take note of were I the coach of Mason or any of their upcoming opponents. Good luck to the Pats and their fans.

W&M choked because the team had five white guys playing. W&M looked like The Washington Generals playing the Harlem Globetrotters.
