I've been wondering the same thing, 519. It's definitely closed....I hope just for renovations (there is a roll-off trash bin in the parking lot).
Their website is "tempoarily disabled"....which may be a bad sign.
If it's history, I'm going to miss bellying to that bar.

how about bad food... the last couple of times i was there the food sucked, I heard they are gone for good

I have been going to Ribsters since I was a little kid, when there was an H.I. in front of the name. And, even though it changed ownership a couple of times, the place used to maintain its consitent great food and decent service. However, like the above poster mentioned, the last two times I went there, the quality of both food and service has definitely gone down hill. I haven't been there in over 6 months because of those two experiences. Quite frankly, if the food and service aren't going to return to the original quality I remember going to for over 20 years, I am not going to miss it.
On another note, does anyone know anoter good place for ribs? Please don't say Famous Daves, King Street Blues or Red, Hot and Blue. None of those could touch Ribsters when Ribsters was in their prime.

We went there maybe 6-7 weeks ago. There was a sign on the door that said Closed after 29 years in business. Maybe the number was not 29, but it was something like that.
