Somebody making $260K doesn't know what real money is. EB is a fucking joke. He's the stupidest of the Junkies, and that takes some doing.

Maybe some of that $260k should be used to treat his cancer, or his gambling addiction, or his drinking problem.

Between the grim reaper, EB, and this loser the junkies are going to be real junkies. Like strong out on H after they look in the mirror one day and the reality of life hits them. Alcohol won't be enough.

That guy is a delusional POS. He gets paid a large sum of money to sit on his ass for 4 hours a day and talk about sports, gambling, girls, etc. And he's complaining about it?!?

JP is the one who never shows up on time.

EB is the one who was bitching because his car finish was being ruined by the construction on I-66 at 4:30 am. When the others pointed out he could just go down 50, he bitched that it would extend his commute. His solution? Trying to figure out how he could get money out of DOT to pay for his ruined car finish.

Fucking dildo brain.

The junkies are just a pack of self-entitled d-bags.

Despite no discernible talent, they get paid large sums of money to BS about sports on the radio for 4 hours a day and hang out in Atlantic City.

Yet they show no appreciation for their incredibly cushy lifestyle. Morons.

Lurch is the only one who can ask legitimate questions but eb always has to constantly chime in with his inane questions. the other two dorks have probably been told to shut it when feinstein is on.

heard the chunks play a game and then do the old donkeys of the week bit. it all sounds so very tired.

Their ratings have really gone in the crapper since they signed their new contract. Their show ratings are in LFF/The Edge territory.

I guess what little effort they put into the show before the new contract is officially gone under the new agreement. Another great move, CBS.

All of radio is in plunder mode.

Am/fm has been dead for almost ten years now. The execs and talent know that. Why should they try to fix the titanic when only the stern (no pun intended) is still above water.

They are all amassing, and holding, as much cash as possible for when their advertisers finally force them to jump ship and swim for it.

Audio will live, radio will die and te consumer will be better for it.

Agree. I had to change my battery six months ago, and didn't bother putting 106.7 on there. In fact, I just have 103.5 for traffic and the station my XM radio transmits to.

I don't see why some station doesn't just start playing podcasts,,,

Should be a cheap alternative to "real" talent,,,pretty sure most podcasters would take damn near any deal

Make the station a variety show of what's out there

Use the podcast format to prospect for talent and re-invent the industry

If someone really starts taking off bring them in for an on air show,,,

The only problem would be that a lot of these good podcasts don't want to mess with the BS involved with being on the radio. Most don't bother (or want to) bleep out stuff like BOAD does (for some strange reason). Nor would they they want to deal with some Pig Virus like suit telling them how to improve the show.

Satellite has done this a little bit. I know Joe Rogan's podcast is on the Opie and Anthony station on the weekend. I think the Smodcast used to be (or still is) on the O&A network too. I don't see guys like that cleaning it up so CBS radio can use their stuff. I mean Corolla has apparently turned regular radio down a couple times for the reasons above.

Personally though, I think any old podcast from some unknown guy would be better than hack morning zoo DJs or "sports talk" featuring a marble-mouthed ex-athlete. It would probably be cheaper than paying whatever they pay Lavar or Mike Wise, let alone all four Junkies.

I'm pretty sure if Adam Carolla could get another morning radio gig paying the $1.2 million he was getting before, he would drop his podcast and deal with Pig Virus. The podcast seems to be a hell of a lot of work without the kind of reward he was getting from a paid radio gig. While I'm sure he is making decent money from the podcast, it probably compare to what he was making at CBS radio.

Some sponsors (i.e.-NetFlix) will not provide sponsorship to a show which uses foul language. It was easier to to the free show clean and the paid show with the curse words.

I can't believe I listened to another 30 minutes or so this morning. e.b. looks like death warmed over cause he expends so much energy during a show babbling on and on and on and on. He probably thinks if I don't move this sucker along the show will careen into the road bank. Problem for me is that shtick is so tiresome and boring. same old same all the time.

I guess the yutes like how they change topics mpoment to moment but when they end up saying the same things again and again well i find it ponderous

got to get off my lazy ass and change the station. problem with that is D.C. radio sucks so bad these days not really anything worth listening too

To get my sports fix now i'll listen to Czab on a horrible AM signal over the Junks and the caliber of product is night and day.

Its clear that Czab has a pure passion for sports and radio unlike the Junks who hav neither. Thos guys barely want to put in 4 hours, Czab does two shows and still mixes in enough pop culture to keep things fresh.

Why CBS Radio doesnt realize those 4 ingrates have zero appreciation for a job that 100's of other guys would do for less money and more passion is beyond me.

The Junks are like an old casino in Vegas that been around for to long. At one time it was trendy, fresh, new and the place to be. Nothing has been changed or updated since the opening, everything is falling apart and the people who go there are without a clue. The only thing that can fix it is a razing.

You can't compare the Czab to the Junkies. The Junkies are really a bunch of played out douche bags who marginally discuss sports. When they run out of material, they start making up words.

Czab, on the other hand, is a multi-faceted sports commentator. He can easily move from discussing the French Open to The Masters to the NFL to college hoops. He is thoroughly versed on a wide range of topics and can hold intelligent and informed discussions with a variety of guests or callers.

The Junkies have Lurch, who knows college hoops and some football. The other idiots chime in occasionally with semi-retarded analysis of UFC, which really isn't a real professional sport. When that's played it, it's "Rick, Donk, Silly, Pwning" time.

Bunch of fucktarded asshats.

Comparing them is an oxymoron

The Junks and Czab are approximately the same ages, target the same demograpic and work in the same radio niche. Yet as WTL points out there really is no comparison because Czab out classes the Junks on so many levels.

Glad we can agree something, guy!

I think that book show precisely what's wrong with JP. He is the most self centered douchbag I have ever heard! He is completely in love with himself - he always drops into conversations random self flattering comments to make him look good. He never admits he's wrong despite overwhelming evidence and common sense to the contrary.

Now he writes a book about his journey to become a boxer! A BOXER????? Are you kidding me? He did a PR stunt by steppping into the ring. Sure he went to a boxing trainer for a few months - get in line with hundreds of soccer Moms who do the same thing every week, Are they writing books about their quest to become a boxer?? No, because they know they are not boxers! JP is so into himself that he believed the PR Stunt made him a boxer. And now he has the audacity to think that anyone would be interested enough to read it.

Let's remember that the PR stunt bout was against a loser who had only a handfulof fights himself and lost most of them. He was a loser and a bad fighter yet he completely embarassed JP in every way in the ring. He beat his ass and knocked him out seconds into the fight and made it painfully obvious to everyone but JP -- that he was not a boxer nor would he ever be. He was a joke, he was a dude who went to a soccer mom boxing camp and it that's exactly what he looked like in the ring.

Get over yourself or better yet run away to some far away place with lots of mirrors and stare lovingly into your own eyes...but just do it far away from here.

What a douchbag. This guy has no concept of the world around him.

One of them was complaining yesterday that the door of his Xbox was broken and he couldn't get it open. The door on mine has been broken for months, and my young son can open it in about four seconds. All you have to do is stick a pen or something in there and press a button. It couldn't be easier. Yet Stephen Hawking could do it before this dumbass Junkie (whichever one it was; I can't be bothered to try to tell them apart anymore). These guys can't do anything.

They can't do anything, yet somehow have stayed on the air all these years. This perplexes the Hell out of me.

I used to listen to them because there weren't any other options for morning sports talk around here. It was either the Junkies or Mike and Mike (generic ESPN BS at its best). And I fucking HATE Mike and Mike.

But I just couldn't take all of the non-sports BS they talk about and their gambling fixation any more.

I've switched to AM 570, the Steve Czaban show is much much better.

First, I wouldn;t really calling it pissing away a law degree as a good percentage of people with law degrees don't actually practice law. The contract he is on now pays more than most government jobs requiring a JD. And, let's be honest, JP would not be able to land a job at a white shoe law firm or even a top 500 firm. At best, he would be a DUI or personal injury lawyer. This job pays the same and has much less stress.

Second, he did pass the bar. Lurch never passes a bar.

Can you imagine JP arguing in front of a jury? LOL.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I implore you...there's no way my client, as much of a donk that he is, could have financed his wife's murder. He's totally felted. The evidence is trifling at best and the prosecution's best witness is just salty because she was butt-cised for him and he wouldn't reciprocate. It's probably money to think that some other rick did it."

I think they have benefited from the fact that everything else CBS has touched in this market has turned to shit. The Junkies are shitty, too, but less so.

Well out of the piss poor selection of local radio shows these days, the Junkies are still better than most I guess. Even with JP ruining every segment he tries to get involved in.

On WJFK, the best show is probably Danny Rouhier, followed by the Junkies. Wise is unbearable to listen tom and so is Lavar, although for different reasons.

The unfortunate thing is, the "stars" are the problem with the shows. Holden Kushner on his own isn't bad at all, and Dukes is much better when he is solo.

In the end, I happily pay for Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern instead of listening to any local radio.

As long as they bring in the revenue, nothing will change. And so, for the foreseeable future, nothing will change.

Lurch always talks about stuff going on at home, but says he will never elaborate on it. He talks about his house being so underwater; my guess is they can't afford to divorce at this point.

Lurch probably refi'd with a cash out every chance he could to buy new cars or gamble. He bought that house a good few few years before the houseing market peake. I don't cry for him.
