How many years of experience do you have? Even if the answer is 0 and its completely entry level (which I doubt at TS/SCI), the pay is garbage and you were screwed. With a TS/SCI (even doing basic administrative support), you should be up over $80k minimum.

Wow!!!??? How recent are your numbers on salaries sir/ma'am? I know when we were deeply invested in Iraq and Afghanistan, companies were shelling out a good amount of money ($60-$65k) for people with TS/SCI with little experience.

I have 0 years experience but do have a bachelor's degree. From the individuals I know with the TS/SCI clearance and experience in the intelligence field from being deployed once, they are still offered positions in the $50-$65k range.

Granted, I know a college degree in IT/Computer Science/engineering and the clearance will yield salaries north of $65k easily.

No, that is the starting salary for a new graduate without clearances.

I know, that's why I said north of that number.

Starting salary in this area with no experience/no clearances is somewhere between $40k and $50k....I'm not sure about the clearances though unfortunately

How do you have a TS/SCI with no experience? Someone had to put you through, meaning you worked somewhere.

Here's your answer from his second post:

"experience in the intelligence field from being deployed once"

Thats about right. Companies are not paying the salaries like they used to because they no longer have to. I can name 7 people I personally know right now with a TS/SCI and full scopes that arent making any more than the dudes without clearances because of our current fiscal operating environement (We are STILL under a CRA) Also, a Bachelors in this area means exactly nothing; dont expect any kind of job like the one you got if you didnt already have the clearances - meaning the pickup cost to your sponsor is nothing compared to the sponsoring costs of getting the clearance.

To these types of companies, a Bachelors simply means they will look at your resume. Do you really think that competes with the Masters and PhD types with mucho experience? Former .mil with a bachelors and ZERO experience? Sorry, but I wouldnt hire you for my team. (DoD advanced Science & Technology)

Your clearance helped you get the job. How greedy do you want to be?

Big company? Small company? Have you pulled the reports on the company to find out what they do, who they do it for, the contract vehicles and the possible labor categories under those contract vehicles to see where your 'salary' falls within the scope of the contract? Im betting not.

How greedy does he want to be? All he asked was if his salary is ok for the job, and how much he can grow in the next few years. Quit being a dick, dick.

I wasnt being a dick, dick.

Its a valid question - how greedy do you want to be in negotiating for a salary? Is the offer ok or do you want to keep looking? Sometimes going for that 'higher salary' is going to cost the person the offer. So yeah, dick, its a valid fucking question. Unfuck your panties and go smoke a bowl so that you dont hurt yourself thinking to hard.

See, thats being a dick.

Oh, to the OP, you stated Financial Analyist, but does the position (or client agency) require the USE of your TS/SCI?

Since you are registered, you can shoot me a message with your resume if you still want to look around. Im a board member for a non profit group in the area that does nothing but hook former .mil up with DoD type jobs in the area. I probably see 100 postings for jobs come across my desk each week.

What do you really want to do?

I've done rather thorough research on the smaller company that hired me. I've met a couple of folks that work there and they all seem pleasant and enthusiastic about life and the work in general. I would be content with this salary given the prior statements; merely I was trying to see if the salary is on par with other professionals in similar career paths/experiences.

And yes, you MUST have the clearance to work there.

I'm pretty sure everyone in this thread has a job except for you.
