Travelling on short notice, need prepaid SIM

I am travelling to Italy and need to purchase a prepaid SIM so that I can use my cellphone over there but I don't have time to go through a website to do it. Does anyone know if there are places in the area that sell these? Everything that I have seen online says that you can not purchase once in Italy, they sell only to Italian residents.

Are you meeting up with any Italian residents? Maybe they can buy one for you now and have it ready when you get there.

pgens - Unfortunately I am going on business and do not know anyone overthere. I do not wish to deal with a "shady" person once overthere who is willing to buy one for me. The last thing I need is a large fine, in Euros at that.

Harry - I had planned on doing just that but the more I researched it the more I kept finding sites that said that they no longer sell them to travellers, you had to be an Italian resident.
