Good sushi and hot wings restaurants?

I haven't had good sushi or hot wings in a while. Does anybody have any recommendations for a good restaurant in Fairfax County for either of those?

Bonus if they serve both, but they don't have to. Just kidding.

Thanks!

Not in Fairfax, but I would nominate Bugsy's in Alexandria.

Blue Ocean at Pickett Shopping Center.

They don't have hot wings, but you may try out "yakitori" instead.
It's a Japanese version of skewered chicken.

+1.

Blue Ocean is one of the few Japanese restaurants in the area actually owned, staffed, run, and frequented by Japanese. The only place in the area where you can get the full izukaya experience.

Screw all those "pan-Asian" eateries run by Chinese or Koreans who feel the need to serve crude attempts at Japanese cuisine in their restaurants while similarly pushing out crappy versions of Vietnamese and Thai cuisine.

Avoid cheap wing nights like the plague. I bounced for a BW-3 (back when it was called that) when I was in college when I learned the truth about cheap wing night. Cheap wing night is the last night of the week that you can use the fryer oil (needs to be switched out every week). Consequently, the cheap wings you are getting are cheap because they are being fried up in week-old fry oil that has had all manner of fried stuff in it over the course of the week.

If you want good wings, go the night AFTER cheap wing night.

plus they often use skinny "wings" on those nights.

Jasmine Garden in Merrifield has awesome sushi(stripmall near Greveys)
I also went to Duck Wo in Burke on Fri... good sushi

also depends on the sushi chef..they all make the rolls differently too

For wings, I like the crispy kind, dislike all the "wet sauced" wings, Backyard wings are good...and of course you cant go wrong with hooters wings..get'em naked and hot...no breading.

For sushi, Matsui Sushi in the Landsdowne Shopping Center outside the Telegraph Road gate of Ft. Belvoir is absolutely awesome.

For Wings, WingStop on Rt. 1 just north of Ft. Belvoir has both wet and dry wings, and is equally awesome. They don't run cheap wing nights, so you know you're not dealing with week-old fryer oil.

I tried that place today at lunch. It was good. It seemed a little pricey but it sure beat Wegmans sushi!
