Don't forget just down the street was Falls Church Airpark (where Loehmann's Plaza is now).

I remember taking an intro flight in a Mooney (they were Mooney dealers) when I was a kid...cost 5 bucks.

Fairfax County USED TO BE a fun place.

Yeah...kinda crappy that stuff is torn down to make room for more houses. Is Midgetville gone yet?

Midgetville HOUSES are still there but abandoned. The houses are a lot smaller then usual but there is only 4 or 5 of them left. I forgot the exact street that it is on but its 5 minutes away from Farrish Subaru on Lee Hwy. I have been there a few times but now they have a no trespassing sign up.

The midgetville houses are coming down as we speak (type).

How about the pony rides at Bailey XRoads, not to mention the Piper airport and drive-in theater?

Anyone remember the teepee (or was it igloo) apartments up on Lee Highway approximately across the street from Lee Graham swimming pool. (for that matter, does anyone remember the two Little League baseball fields that used to grace the Lee Graham pool property, having now been replaced by townhouses?)

I'm sure everyone here lives in houses built before 1960.

Those little local airports were a menace, there were lots of wrecks. There was an incident where a small craft missed the runway at the FC municipal airport and landed on Marc Drive.

That would be hilarious if it happened.

A small plane crashed into a house in McLean Hamlet when I was a kid.
