Were it me I'd go to your health insurance company's info on what OB/GYNs are in your network in Reston, then hit up WebMD or other review sites and plug in a few of the doctors.

Many times there will be an office where five or six doctors work, and patients can see many of them during the course of a pregnancy. That is done not only for scheduling convenience, but also because you will have met the doctor who is delivering the baby when the time comes as often it depends on who is on duty at the hospital from that office at the time.

If you want to be really clever, find a baby store like Babies R Us in Reston (if there is one) and strike up a conversation with someone who is obviously a few months along. Ask them if they would mind sharing who they are seeing and if they have ahad a good experience so far.

Check Inova Fair Oaks or any other Inova medical facility, and there is a link that will assist you in locating an OB/GYN physician.

This is a serious reply to your question....
I recommend Dr. Peter Rothschild or Dr. Damon Hou. They are two of the doctors of Northern VA Gynocologists. Their office is near the intersection of 123 and 50....right off of Route 66.

They have been in practice for along time and delivered both of my children. Wonderful doctors with great bed side manner.

What do a gynaecologist and a pizza delivery boy have in common?

They can both smell it, but can't eat it.

I recommend Dr. Walter Hodges or Dr. Jamie Zaita, both in Fair Ridge Medical Center (West Ox Rd & Rt 50)...they are awesome, they delivered my daughter last July by C-Section...my prenatal appts were wonderful. My best friend was going to some OBGYN in Reston, and she switched Dr's halfway through as this place was not very thorough. She went in for her 20 week appt, and the nurse asked her if she was, or thought she could be pregnant because it wasn't in her charts!!! Also- just a word of advice, try to go to a Dr affiliated with Fair Oaks vs. Reston Hospital...I have never heard a good thing about Reston's L&D or Post Partum units or nurses :(

Damn! I really thought you were kidding, but it looks like it's true! Seems he's retired now but according to one website, "Dr. Beaver practices Obstetrics & Gynecology in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Harry Beaver, a male, graduated from the George University School of Med and Health Science with an MD and has been in the profession for 45 years." http://www.healthgrades.com/directory_search/physician/profiles/dr-md-reports/Dr-Harry-Beaver-MD-FD3B8B34.cfm

What an awesome name!

Im pretty sure the GOP is trying to pass a bill outlawing OBGyn because it is too sexual. Not sure about it though because they seem to encourage TransVaginal ultra sound in Richmond.

No, but Obamacare will be limiting mammograms and pap smears.

Instead of an annual pap smear, drs are being instructed to preform pap smears every three years.

But, to make women think Obama cares, that pap smear, every three years, will be "free"..... well, not exactly free, since you will pay for it in either your premiums or by losing another service or maybe a medication that was previously covered.

It's all a big fat fraud.

You are full of shit, like most of your kind.

The PAP screening change has nothing to do with Obamacare. This recommendation was put out by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, with support from The American Cancer Society (ACS), the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) and the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Both the task force and the collaborative groups reviewed scientific literature and came to similar conclusions.

Here's a radical idea - instead of routinely lapping up the bullshit put out by your "leaders", why not look behind the screen and see what's actually there? But you won't do that; it's so much easier to believe the lies.

Yes, it does, asshole. Until March of 2012, when the new guidelines were issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, insurance plans covered an annual pap smear. Now they no longer will, despite the many doctors who still recommend it.

From the HHS website:

"How often should women have Pap tests?
This is not the same for everyone, and depends on things like a woman's age, health history, recent Pap test results, and whether or not she has HPV. Ask your health care provider how often you should have a Pap test. Most women can have a Pap test every two years. After age 30, women who have three consecutive, normal Pap tests can often go three years between their Pap tests, but those decisions should be made after consulting with her health care provider."

Elsewhere on the HHS website:

"On August 1, 2011, HHS adopted new Guidelines for Women’s Preventive Services (Guidelines) – including well-woman visits, contraception, and domestic violence screening and counseling. These preventive services are required to be covered without cost sharing in most non-grandfathered health plans starting with the first plan or policy year beginning on or after August 1, 2012.1 The Guidelines were recommended by the independent Institute of Medicine (IOM) and based on scientific evidence."

Right back at ya. You people can't seem to understand that just because these GUIDELINES came out during Obamacare does not mean that they are the result of Obamacare. And you ignore the fact that guidelines for health care change all the time based on SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, not politics.
