Not inspiring me to upgrade to fios when they can't even get me the promised 1.5mbps =/

I upgraded from 20/5 to 25/25 recently when I renewed my 2 year discount.

I had 3/768 DSL for 3-4 years before and it seemed pretty reliable. FiOS has been more so though.

Yeah I am on the 25/25 plan just tested and got 30/25

Those speed tests are bullshit.

The providers know where all the speed testing sites are at and optimize transport to those sites.

They can only gimmick the last mile so far, but I agree that they aren't the final answer - only a quick health check.

That said, I just pulled a 151 MB update averaging 27 Mbps. Slower than Speedtest's reported 30 Mbps, but not out of line.

I generally don't look at how fast stuff is going, but when I do, Verizon seems to be doing their job.

Switch to Comcast…they can hook you up with a sweet deal.

I'm on Cox's 15/2 Preferred plan, and get the speeds below when on my wireless G devices. Cox definitely has it's issues but overall isn't too bad.
