Will the county shut down tomorrow?

Will everyone (non-essential) get a three-day weekend?

...I will be at work, before the sun comes up. Hopefully the county does the right thing and everyone else remains scared and at home - fewer dip$h!t$ on the road!!!

Most important - will Tisdadt get another early morning phone call?????

Fairfax County will close schools tomorrow if there are icy conditions and a little snow. So far this school year there have been no snow days. The schools are given 3. We are a week away from March -- we'll be closed.

People you need to start paying attention to radar sites and how to easily read them. Most of the snow is staying well north and west of us and will miss the DC metro area. The next chance for precip is all rain and is well south of us and it seems to be sliding east through southern Virginia and North Carolina. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Winter Storm warning taken down anytime now.

Are you stupid?

Noaa has a 90% chance of snow and ice all day tomorrow, Weather.com has the same.

Where are you finding all this information?

Sue Palka, says it has begun to snow (in some places).

Snow, changing to ice.

5am, snow

9am, change to sleet

11am, freezing rain

Enjoy your day!

www.noaa.gov I found is the best and most accurate weather website. One complaint though - they have no section on where to get a hooker in Fairfax County.

The best LOCAL weather information comes from the Capital Weather Gang blog which is now part of WaPo:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/capitalweathergang/?hpid=topnews

They have great analysis and offer forecasts specific to this area. NOAA has data and weather.com offers broad information.

OK all - it's RAINING! The roads are in super shape, including bridges and overpasses. Just take it slow if you need to go out!
Be safe and have a great weekend!

Looks like the roads are fine but that much of everything else around here (central fairfax) is covered in ice.

Call 703-we6-1212 for good weather updates and info.
