Want to donate a kitchen stove: where to donate?

After remodeling my house, I have a 4 burner gas stove/oven that I would like to donate to someone who can use it in the Fairfax County area.

Anyone know of organizations or shelters etc that can use a stove or any other place that would take it as a donation?

Is it in good condition? If so, you might want to try ReStore (www.habitat.org/restores/) or the Salvation Army. Otherwise, you could always use Freecycle or Craigslist.

They are in Springfield,Restore is in Chantilly. As far as I know donations are drop offs so you need to get it there.

Freecycle might be good on CL there seem to be alot of scrappers who want it for the metal, you can always put a nominal price on it to combat this.

I also endorse Habitat. They run a very efficient location and much of the donated equipment does get used by those who need it. May need to check if they will pick it up for you.

Unique Thrift in Muddifield will take it. Recently saw a washer, an ancient commericial freezer and yes, even two gynecological exam tables there, too.
