25th Annual Santa’s Ride for Children

As Christmas approaches, children everywhere will be watching the skies for Santa Claus. In Fairfax County some very special children won't have to wait until Christmas Eve. Santa and his elves will be rumbling down the streets of Fairfax County on motorcycles December 12, 13 and 14.

Once again, Santa has temporarily traded in his sleigh and reindeer for a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The Fairfax County Police Motorcycle Squad, in cooperation with the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, Fairfax City Police, Falls Church Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Vienna Police will be escorting Santa on his 25th annual Ride for Children.

On Monday, December 12, Santa’s elves will pick up toys and other donations from police stations and other government facilities throughout the county. On Tuesday, December 13, Santa will visit seven Fairfax County public schools. Santa and his helpers will deliver toys to children at INOVA Fairfax Hospital Child Life Center on Wednesday, December 14 and to the Georgetown Hospital Lombardi Cancer Center on Thursday, December 15. Toys will also go to various local charities including the Ronald McDonald House and the Reston F.I.S.H. (For Immediate Sympathetic Help).

Anyone wishing to make a donation should bring a new, unwrapped toy, game, book, or other gift to any Fairfax County Police station or their designated school or to the Fairfax County print shop at the Government Center. All donations should be made before 9 a.m. Monday, December 12.

An itinerary for Santa and his helpers is available upon request from the Public Information Office at 703-246-2253.

I hope they can get this police escort correct.

The other reindeer and I are strenuosly protesting Santa's decision to ride Rubeus Hagrid's flying motorcycle and not let us pull him in his sleigh. OCCUPY THIS PARADE! That is all.

FFX Co police have as much right to ride as a group of motorcycles as do any other group of motorcycles. You can't single out one group of motorcycles and protest against their ride.

I'm one of Santa's reindeer. What are you, fucking Muslim or something? Santa has no business on a motorcycle in a parade. Me and my reindeer friends should be pulling him.

We thought the W.N.C. ended their TOYS 4 TOTS volunteer work on December 3rd. Is there still a box for the TOYS 4 TOTS where customers can drop off un-wrapped toys for needy children until December 23rd?

Happy Holidays to The W.N.C.

We look foward to riding with you again in Spring 2012.

Three days of the Fairfax county police motorcycles stopping traffic and driving around in Santa outfits? Who is paying for all of this?

Bah Humbug!
