Hey you guys, i was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to eat prom night dinner. i'll be with a group of about 10. I went to Maggiano's last year and it was okay. Looking for something different this year. thanks.

Ruth's Chris steakhouse maybe. There's one up in fairfax corner and another in crystal city. They're ridiculously expensive though.

Morton's and Sam and Harry's are just as good
and just as expensive

I'd give a suggestion but first I need to know exactley how much action you expect to get... and if you say none you better hope I don't find your address because I hate guys who don't want to get laid on prom night. What other fucking reason is there to go? To dance and wear a tux? Only a faggot would do that without a sexual favor waiting in the horizon.

Anyway, assuming you expect to go all the fucking way and then get her to brown bag it, I'd suggest either a Japanese steak house or a korean place called the han sung oak in Annandale... culture that bitch before you giver her a throat culture if you know what I mean. Those places are expensive enough to make you look good but not ball-breakingly $$$$.

Depends what you are going for...

You want "different" - Try something like The Melting Pot, if you've never been, it's actually really fun. Or you can do what some people do which is go on the Odyssey.

You want "nice" - Ruth's Chris is probably one of the better steak houses around here. I'd say Morton's and Sam & Harry's is a close second.

You want "unfucking-believable" - If you REALLY want to go ALL out and do something that will make you look like the shizzle, take the group to Citronelle's in DC (http://www.citronelledc.com/) and sit at the Chef's table (http://www.citronelledc.com/chefstable.html). Regularly it's $275 per person, but comes with alcohol. I know that you guys are under age, so you should call and tell them that you want to try it out for Prom see if they can do something with no alcohol, it should bring the price down a lot too. The Chef's Table requires 6 people minimum and seeing how you have 10, that shouldn't be a problem. If the Chef's Table is too outrageous for you, you can still eat in the regular dinning room, still very very nice.

I personally wouldn't go to a Japanese Steakhouse or Korean place, you're going to really stink afterwards. The smell of Japanese or Korean BBQ is pretty strong and will stay in your hair, clothes, skin...all night long.

Another idea is the Crystal City Restaurant... it is pretty good at setting up the evening's mood.

In all seriousness, who the fuck would spend 275 a head for dinner? You gotta be smoking some nice shit to do that, let me have some. I do agree on the Jap/Korean thing on hindsight.

I mean, on top of limo, helicopter, flower thingy, hotel, condoms (strap it on, kiddies), tickets, tux, lube, ruffies (just in case), weed, x, booze, and coke, who has cash left for anything but a simple dinner out? And that doesn't even count the post prom expenses, like the lawyer, the detox, the paternity tests, the aids testing, and getting the vomit cleaned from basically every surface you encountered on your "special night". And notice you haven't hired a lawyer yet... this isn't 1956, it's 2004. Prom night is SERIOUS SHIT NOW.

The money kids spend on prom nowadays is just stupid. There oughtta be a law making certain gaurantees at certain levels of expenditure. I'm writing to Tom Davis about this.

took my date 'prom queen' ;) to Da Dominicos. its right infront of CLyde's in tysons corner. Really Really good pasta- all fresh all authentic. they even have a dude walking around singing opera occasionaly.. its really fancy and you can reserve a pimp little lounge thats somewhat secluded that can fit 3 couples easy

Oh by the way, if you go to Ruth's Chris, you gotta get the Cowboy Ribeye blackened (or Cajun) style...it's the only way to go.

restaurant.com coupon
Posted by: dlee ()
Date: April 14, 2005 10:56AM

If you're looking to save cash do this:

go to restaurant.com and enter your zip code.

Find a suitable restaurant (Like Il Lupo in Fairfax, which would be a really good choice I think).

When purchasing your dining certificate enter
Promotional Code: 66289

That code is good through 5/1/05 for 50% off.

Hence, you can get a $25 meal certificate for $5.

Many restaurants won't let you use it on alchohol, but you're underage anyways.

Be sure to check the restrictions. Like they might not let you use more than one certificate per table. Plus you'd have to guage socially whether your date would think you a cheapass for using a certificate on prom night. But if she doesn't go for it, maybe you should be rethinking the relationship anyways. Unless you're not thinking long-term, just trying to get laid or whatnot.

I suggest these:

Restaurant Eve
Majestic Cafe
Vermillion
The Lorien Hotel - Restaurant
Jackson 20 - in Hotel Monaco

These are all great and unique places to go. Call to make sure that they can seat that many kids though. These are all places I normally visit with a small group.

Also, there's always the Mortons or Ruth Chris if you're looking for steak.

Also, there's:
Bilbo Baggins
Sequoia
Waterfront
The Wharf
and McDonalds!

Enjoy
