Most Democratic/liberal part of FFX County

What is the most Democratic or liberal part of Fairfax County voting wise? I've always figured it's been the area's near Arlington and Alexandra or maybe Springfield or Reston. The last one of which I've heard people say is like Silver Spring in terms of who it votes for.

I know other parts of Nova like Arlington, Alexandra, or Falls Church are vote pretty Democratic on all levels, but I've viewed those places as extensions of DC not actual suburbs like FFX is.

So where is the most Democratic part of Fairfax County?

Here you go boss

This map is from McDonnels election in 2009 when he somehow managed to win Fairfax

http://www.vpap.org/elections/locality_election_maps/51059?election_id=1261

As you might have guessed Inside the beltway, south of Alexndria and interstingly south of Reston are the most democratic areas

By point of comparison here is Obama when he crushed McCain in 2008

Thats your Republican last bastions

Clifton and surrounding
Far Western Fairfax
Great Falls
The richest part of Oakton
The rich part of Mt Vernon along the water

Well if the republicans had run a decent candidate in 2010 perhaps the result would have been different. Remember that the 11th was the district that elected Republican Tom Davis 6 times, and in 4 of those elections Davis got more than 60% pf the vote. Davis wasn't voted out of office in 2008. Instead he chose not to run for re-election.

Hopefully, Pat Herrity will give 2012 some serious consideration. I suspect this really might be the case. If he wasn't thinking of a run for the House of Representatives, he would have probably ran against Sharon Bulova for the Chaiman of the Board seat in Fairfax County.

We why Springfield Bailey's Crossroads, and other inside the Beltway areas of Democratic, mainly because they have turned into minority ridden slums. But why the hell has Reston always so liberal? Even like 20 years ago it was fairly Democratic in the way it voted. I mean it's not at all much different from the Republican areas of the county and has alot of affluent areas like the Town Center.

I was just in Reston on Thanksgiving and kind of thinking the same way. I believe it has to do with a certain type of person that Reston draws in. I believe you have more "earthy" people who live there. While they might be quite tenacious in the working lives, I believe at home, they're laid back and like the way Democrats run things. I don't think they like to see people rock the boat. Conflict, wars, etc. started while he Republican party was in office, provokes a nervousness in them that they don't like. They'd all like to join hands and sing Kumbiyah. I'm sure a lot of the roots to the Democratic stage were well set in the late 1960s when Mr. Simon had the concept of Reston and started to build it.

Please! That would be like figuring out the stupidest part of congress. Even so-called Republican strongholds are pretty liberal. Fairfax County is the next Arlington.

Tom Davis was a RINO. His wife, Jean Marie Devolites-Davis was
even worse. I voted for Chap Petersen because I was sick and tired
of Jean Marie trying to out-liberal Nancy Pelosi. Now if we could
just get him to pull his head out of his ass on illegal immigration....

The lib parts of Fairfax County are wherever you have subsidized housing, high crime rates, personal-injury lawyers, and other clues that people prefer to leech off society rather than contribute anything.

Reston is full of liberals who want the government to run every aspect of their lives. The other areas like Baileys Crossroads, parts of Springfield and Route One are full of welfare cases who know democrats deliver the best freebies to those not inclined to work.

How long has Mr. Davis been married to JMD? I'm sure he wasn't married until about half-way through his congressional career. I thought he was married and had children with his other, or first wife when he was the Chairman of FFX County.

I found my answer:

In 1973, Davis married Margaret "Peggy" Rantz, a medical doctor. They have three children together: Carlton, Pamela, and Shelley. He divorced her in late 2003 and announced his intention to marry Jeannemarie Devolites in February 2004.
