I was wondering today, after smokin' weed, how to summarize the Underground. There are so many fucked up posts, but there are some that make sense. Such as this is a good place to catch where deals are on eats, new shit to do, trends, but also demented shit as well. Its as if theres no middle. Its a bipolar ride is what I came up with.
Then at the same time, there's a nastier edge than there used to be. That's fine, it don't bother me, as I frankly don't care. But its noticeable, compared to the underground of years ago. Is it the area, or is it just society? I know deep thoughts, but it would be chill to see what other people think about the underground

I haven't checked this site in years, but i just came across it and it is so stupid...you are all losers...this is a site of low lifes...the lowest of the low, and you know your terrible when you don't care about this comment. Folks here don't do shit but work, sleep, and screw around on the computer it seems, so there's no more action, fun stuff to do, that sort of thing? Any ideas for free/low cost entertainment, or do you have to go to DC for that

I could be just me but it seems like a few years ago the regular posters were a lot more sane, funny and a lot more prevalent on the site. I agree that there does seem to be a general trend of the site becoming just more and more outlandish. It is interesting at times as long as you come in here expecting to take nothing seriously at all. The culture of this site is definitely not friendly to the intelligent discussion seeker.

It would be useful if there was a app, or such an area on this site, for events in the county, one category for free stuff, then another for $ events. That way, at least we could see what's going on in Fairfax, without having to dig through the troll bs and other nonsense. Yes, that thread and more.

Hahaha you want culture are you kidding me hahaha this is Fairfax County
There are basically four events in Fairfax County
1. Random running races (I swear Im going to setup a 5k as a personal fundraiser and people would come and give me money haha)
2. Taste of fill in the blank overpriced yuppie crap $5+ a tasting and overpriced wine festivals $20+ plus parking surrounded by yuppies again and farmers markets overpriced and yuppies again
3. Paint by numbers Festivals fill in the blank with the same lame exhibits and booths and musical events rotating around
4. Park events these aren't actually that bad but they only occur in summer when its usually hot out and its the same crap year after year. Wolf Trap falls in this category as well.

Fairfax is cloneville. Everyone is the same, always comparing, always making sure they are better than the neighbor, always making sure their kids are better than the neighbor's kids, everyone is phony and gossips. And then they send their kids to .... let's hear it ... WM, VT or UVA ... because that is all there is in this world - whole world revovles around those 3 schools - fresh graduates feel entitled and believe they are better than everyone else ... and then they raise their own monster children with the same warped values. There is no mental stimulation when you talk to people in the affluent suburbs. Traveling is about bragging, not experiencing new cultures. It is a love/hate relationship living here. Many who post on this forum are mean for the sake of being mean.

FFX Underground is simply put - a mean place that serves little to no purpose but to ruin people. It has a misogynistic tilt too that is particularly disturbing.
