Fort Hunt Park

Anyone else hang out at Ft. Hunt Park when you were younger? The forts used to be pretty overgrown and were a great place to party back in the day. "The day" being the 70's and early 80's.

They are all cleared and the entrances to the lower levels are all sealed now.

my mom used to take me there when i was younger in the early 90's. i remember there was a soccer field and whatnot there. the old forts were the coolest thing ever to me. i moved away but i still think about how cool that place is sometimes. Is all of it gone now? that would suck

The forts are still there, just cleared of debris and sealed up so you can't go into the rooms. It may have been like that when you were there. I am not certain when they cleaned it up.

Back around 2000 I helped with an eagle scout project and painted all the hand railings around the fort. I was like 17 and thought I was king. It's fun to be young and dumb and have no bills.

Hung out there in the late 70; the D parking lot was open to traffic and was where the freaks hung out to party. D was for drugs!
