Herman Cain told an audience in Virginia today that there are hostile forces working to "destroy" his campaign and subvert the will of the people.

Cain's not the only populist politician to confront scandal by claiming there's a plot to undermine what he represents. The riff got a flat response, though, from the Northern Virginia Technology Association.

“There are factions that are trying to destroy me personally, as well as this campaign," Cain said. "But there is a force greater – there is a force at work here that is much greater than those that would try to destroy me and destroy this campaign and this journey to the White House. And that voice is called the voice of the people. That’s why we’re doing as well as we are in this campaign thus far."

Sure, if by real deal you mean slick and well spoken (assuming there's a teleprompter). Three years into his admin I don't see any sign of talent or intelligence. Certainly no aptitude.

The only GOP candidate left is Gingrich and he is old and wash up. I doubt Gingrich can gather enough support to beat Obama.
