Looking for the equivalent of Harbor Frieght tools in the area. Any suggestions? Looking for a heat gun.
Thanks.

There's a Harbor Freight in Hoodbridge and Gaithersburg. Wish there was one closer.

I bought mine at Lowes - this was a mistake. Not because it was expensive or didn't work or anything - it was inexpensive and works fine (just used it last week, as a matter of fact, to shrink some heat-shrink tubing).

No, it was a mistake because I had to drive to Lowes - about 6 miles round trip.

I could have walked to the "apparently more expensive" ACE hardware, paid a couple bucks more for the same or equivalent heat gun, and not have to "pay" for the hidden cost of 50+ cents per mile use of the car.

LTS - I had looked and found those - too far to go to spend $20.

OF - "Support the local business." Good point. Well taken. BUT, in the event Ace doesn't have what I need (or is excessively priced - as are many things there) . . .

Craigslist for cheap goods, but as we all know, some freaks and potentially hot items could be part of the deal. Sketchy but there are peeps trying to unload tools there

Order it online if you can wait.

Otherwise you're probably better just going to Home Depot. If you're a real cheapskate you can buy one, use it and return it.

Sears is a mess overall, but Craftsman still has a lifetime tool warranty and is often made in the USA, so I tend to look for sales there. HD and Lowes just sell the same Chinese junk. I wish good "mom and pop" hardware stores still were in existence around here.
