Democrats call Republicans the party of the rich. Bulova has raised over one million dollars for her campaign. Herrity a Republican $198,000.

I've never heard of a Democrat or a Republican turning down money. They point fingers at each other and blame their respective parties for problems. In short order, none of them are worth a plug nickel. If they enter office with honorable intentions, it isn't too long before the influence of money turns them into scumbags. As soon as they take office, their primary goal is to raise enough money to be re-elected. They immediately lose sight of campaign promises and start the blame game. Term limits is the answer. Bulova is proof. If it wasn't for the BOS, she'd be an anonymous housewife somewhere in Chantilly.

Terms limits would only give more power to the appointed, unelected County Executive who already has too much unaccounted power.

Ask about the process of how her sister got a high paying job in the sheriff's office. . . and then came the sheriffs' pay raise. . .

Sharon Bulova's sister was hired for a lucrative job in the sheriff's office? How did that come about? Sounds interesting.

Actually it would reduce his power and influence. That whole familiarity thing would go right out the window.

Wish Sharon and all other lefties would get out of the business of spending the hard-earned money of others. The property taxes here are awful thanks to the dems; only the illegals in county-subsidized luxury housing and limo-lib billionaires can afford to retire here.

county exec would have all the information accumulated over the years of service, know all the details of the budget and other processes and know all of the staff. In an organization as large as the county government, that institutional knowledge is essential to effective management. Short timer electeds subject to term limits would just be waited out by the intransigent bureaucrats.

Term limits is a good idea for discussion.

Business groups with their own interests in the Metro project have donated large sums to Bulova. Her campaign fund, which held more than $210,000 at the end of June, received $35,000 from a developer with property along the proposed line, as of the last reporting period.

Bulova says she isn’t swayed by such donations because the Dulles line has been planned for so long, and adds that she’s happy to have the support of businesses.

What is going on at Tysons in a number of circumstances is that there are small land owners who consolidate and set up a partnership," explains Providence District Supervisor Linda Smyth.

Campaign finance records show the Limited Liability Corporation has given $5,000 to Supervisor Smyth and $30,000 to Chairwoman Sharon Bulova. Smyth accepted the money, but says her vote is not for sale: "They do not get any special favors from me. Let me put it that way."

Big fan of the "Con"ster. That is bad picture. Looks like horse teeth. Why champaigne glasses for the water. Too early to celebrate the elections just yet.
