RESTON, Va. - Like a pink blur, about 100 dancers took over the Reston Town Center Saturday afternoon and were gone in about three minutes.
Watch a video of the performance:
The dancers, who were breast cancer survivors and supporters, were part of a flash mob to raise breast cancer awareness.
"It was pretty cool to all of a sudden see it happen," says Steve, a Reston resident who caught the short show.
The three minutes represents the sad statistic that every three minutes a new breast cancer diagnosis is made in the U.S.
Twin brothers Morgan and Mitchell Baker were part of the mob.
"When they heard about this flash mob, they said 'yeah we want to do it,'" says the Meg Baker, the boys' mother. "So, they came out and wore pink hair and had a blast."
The twins also did this year's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
The flash mob was organized to celebrate breast cancer awareness month and to get D.C. area residents to register for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer being held next year in May.
