The Herndon Police Department is currently investigating two sexual assaults that it believes may have been perpetrated by the same suspect on Oct. 11.
The suspect in both cases is described as an Asian male, 35-40 years old, 5-feet-5-inches to 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, according to police.
The first incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the 1200 Block of Magnolia Lane, according to Herndon police spokesman Jeff Coulter.
Coulter said the victim was approached by a subject that identified himself as a law enforcement official and then sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect fled the area in a gray vehicle when the victim tried to enter her home.
The second incident occurred at about 7 p.m. the same evening in the 400 Block of Elden Street. Coulter said in that case, the suspect approached the victim, identified himself as a law enforcement official and forced her into a gray vehicle. The suspect then drove a short distance with both parties in the car and then sexually assaulted the victim.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Herndon Police Department at (703) 435-6846.
