Has to be a South County or Silverbrook parent or student that started this thread. Bradsher has done nothing for anyone else in her district but screw them over and lead them on. Of course selling her soul to Dean T. and Jack D. so her precious children and those of her neighbors wouldn't have to attend that ghetto Hayfield Secondary School has panned out great! She criticizes real estate costs in the Clifton/Fairfax Station are of the county as being too high, yet she buys a $950,000+ home just south of the area. Two-faced much?

That's the best laugh I've had in a while!

Thank you, OP, for the public service of providing everyone with a laugh. As for Bradsher, eh, it's a waste of breath at this point. Good riddance to the SOCO bitch, a name earned long before Clifton ever heard of her.

Nov. 8th is how many days away?

Or anyone trying to get a dig in for the Clifton readers here.

Let's face it, the crap the Clifton parents pulled 'for the sake of their children' was over the top. The costly, failed, and frivolous lawsuits; the FOIA and photo shopped libelous posts; getting pictures of Bradsher's daughter and ridiculing her here. Horrible people live in Clifton.

Don't purchase food and goods in the Town of Clifton.

Vote no to Kendall.

Bradsher's pet project, South County Middle School, does affect the amount of resources available to students throughout the county. There is so much more to Bradsher and Tisdadt's schemes than just the closing of Clifton Elementary.

Liz Bradsher is no public servant and not worthy of any commendation. Condemnation, maybe.

This elected School Board representative perjured herself in open court. She also is not aware that she works "FOR" the people she was elected to represent.

The whole problem is in her own words when she says she works "for the Fairfax County Public School system".

She has not one shred of credibility.

They already took a look for more than a half hour and decided to grant the appeal. Yes, there is merit to the case or they would not have granted the appeal. This is costing Fairfax County taxpayers money. It would, no doubt, have been cheaper to keep Clifton open. At the very least, it would have been cheaper to do this the right way. You have to ask yourself why this was done through emails and not in public if this was the "slam dunk" that some posters keep saying it was. I think the VA Supreme Court knows what it's doing.

I do not have a dog in the Clifton fight. However, from the beginning, I have felt that something smells about this whole process. The emails verify that.
It just does not make any sense to close it.

Why was Tisdadt so determined to close Clifton? I understand that Bradsher was playing political games, but why was Staff so determined to close it? There are several puzzle pieces missing in this story. I think the answer lies in what FCPS planned to do with the closed school. Because of all the publicity, we may never know what the orinial plans were for the Clifton site. A church? Hotel? Satellite office for FCPS? New housing development?

Why close a high performing school?

Does anyone really think they were going to close Clifton without a plan for the facility?

Something smells.

Great questions. FCPS does not believe in transparency, however, so they offer no answers. I think this whole thing was handled poorly, even if it was the right decision to close the school. Why they could not have been professional about all this and explain their plans for the land/building is beyond me.

Don't give up. They may end up building a new school there (or actually doing the renovation) if the ruling comes down from the VA Supreme Court.

People can only guess at what the real reason was---but long term it may have to do with the success of the Clifton students and spreading around those top test scores to keep other schools high. It would really suck if that were the case. Meanwhile there is a shortage of elementary school space county wide.

With Bradsher, Wilson, and Gibson gone, how soon before the Board tasks staff to perform a feasibility study on reopening CES?

Do you trust the staff to do that job? Given who the boss is (people don't get their evaluations from the school board). Without a change in leadership, such a "feasibility study" is worthless.
