The IMF would also be a good place to protest as they just proposed buying more bad loans. The US taxpayers are their largest source of funding for the Euro bailouts.

I'll admit I am not in the top 1% of earners in the US. I have a 401(k) (two actually, I need to roll them together), a savings account, an online stock account and a checking account. I pay taxes. I give to charity. I volunteer.

Low rates are no longer helping the economy. The policy is now starting to backfire. They're putting the pension funds in a big hole since most of their assets are fixed-income. Borrowers are using the low rates to refi to 15-year mortgages with higher payments, instead of lowering their payments to boost their spending. People are also saving more to offset the lower income from interest and dividends.

The only way Occupy DC will have any effect is if there are more than ten drum circles.

Any thing less and the large corporations are not going to change their polices!

I suggest spreading these drum circles out across the city, not just in one place.

What are they hoping to change? Their goals are not clear, I don't even know what this movement really wants to change. I can produce something of value. That's why I get paid. These protesters on the other hand seem to have thrown away any opportunity they had and expect someone else to give them something.

i agree with post above hard work but when the system is flawed and you see your tax dollars go to waste on useless wars trying to push are beliefs to diff countries thinking that they are better is wrong. Reading all these post you can tell majority of america is selfish and dont care about other americans just themselves. Our beliefs are better than the other countries, otherwise they wouldn't have their citizens flocking here. That doesn't mean that we are better or more valuable as humans, or that they don't have a unique and amazing culture, but the foundational beliefs of our society are in fact superior.

As for the wars, yeah, I guess it is useless to fight the assholes who want us all dead, and did in fact kill a bunch of us.

However, I do agree, at least in this area I do see a lot of selfishness and far less concern for helping one another.
