Good Chinese Food

Our family has been to Red Pepper near the Food Lion in Fair Oaks. Gone there about 6 times, and everything on the menu is great. It's not expensive, and they give you a lot of food. I've eaten in probably different 50 Chinese restaurants, and this is the best quality/value one I've ever been too. It's nice inside, but people dress casually.

The one in Fair Lakes near Tony's New York Syle pizza? They're excellent. My personal favorite for takeout is definitely China King under the movie thearte in Fairfax Towne Center. They give you enough fried rice for 3 meals!

Cary has it right -- the one in Fair Lakes right near Tony's pizza. Just find the Fair Lakes shopping Center off Fair Lakes Parkway and go down to the end, near Stringfellow, past the Wal-Mart. There's a little part of the shopping center right across from the Food Lion.

Yeah, I went there a while back. It was a nice casual chinese restaurant that wasn't very expensive but the food was pretty good.

It's not the best chinese food I've had, but for the price, it's worth a go.

I was talking about Red Pepper in my last message. Not Changs. Changs is too expensive.

They must have been doing good business then!

The next to go are probably the tiny dogs, followed by the bigger ones and so on. With vegetation dying and deer, badger, etc. looking for food far and away and across roadways, roadkill is also an option with 'em Chinese restaurants.

Both places mentioned are terrible and bland. The place in fair lakes is the worst, got sick from there.

Live in the neighorhood right next to Fair Lakes and I hit up Tony's, Red Pepper and that bagel place 1 each during the week because they are that good. For those that don't know any of these places, you are missing out. The entrance is near the Food Lion.

Decent Chinese in NOVA?

New China Cafe(Annandale): Not bad, preferable to crap like PF Chang's, Duck Chang's and the like.
Peking Gourmet Inn(Falls Church)
China Star(Fairfax)--order from their traditional Chinese menu, avoid the Americanese selections.
Hunan West(Burke)

I can eat Chinese for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks straight and never complain. I do have absolutely zero tolerance for shit Chinese food.

These are the best I've found in this area, hands down.

1. Hunan Delight in Vienna off of Cedar Ln.
2. Charlie Changs in Centreville off of 29
3. Peiking Gourmet in Falls Church
4. House of Lion, now closed, but was in FFX.

Oh, and Red Pepper, in Fair Lakes as discussed above. They've been open since the early 90's for good reason. They are awesome.
