Ever See a Chevy Volt in Fairfax County?
Posted by: WingNut ()

I've seen ONE Chevy Volt and ONE Tesla in Fairfax County, or anywhere else for that matter.

Ever see one on the road? Parked at the dealership doesn't count.

I saw a Chevy Volt headed northbound near Beacon Hill shopping center on Rt. 1 about 2 weeks ago. Surprised me. Had VA plates.

Hi,
I've seen a few and stopped and talked to the owners of two of them.
Wildly differing accounts of success.
One guy said the battery wears down much faster than advertised and the other had stories of impossible results even by laboratory standards.
Hmmmmm.
If you average the two, it sounds like a pretty dismal failure.

You rarely get people honest enough to come out and say- "I hate this car I shouldn't have bought it"

GM is really in the experimental phase with these and the buyers are test tube babies.

The Volt would be a good idea- if it only was.

Is there still a stretch of Braddock that is unpaved out there?

My neighbor in Fairfax has one. He seems to like it OK. He leaves it plugged in a night, so when he's running late in the morning I'll see him rushing to put the extension cord away, lol. He was one of the first to buy so you know he got raped.

I've seen one. I read that in the month of JUL only 129 were sold nation wide -- I'd tend to believe that.

Yes at the west falls church metro. It look way shitty and not as cool as it does on the website. It looked like a chevy cavaliar or some shit my first car out of high school car. NOT worth the 40k.

I've seen a couple of them on the road. Personally I don't see the point of paying such a huge premium when I can buy a Volkswagen TDI diesel and drive with a pussyfoot and get 50+ mpg.

Saw one east-bound on I-66 between Front Royal and Haymarket a few weeks ago. Other than that only seen them in dealerships (which of course doesn't count).

Not until you get past Gum Spring Rd, where they are building John Champe High School.

I see a Tesla every weekend while I'm in it. I have seen the Volt maybe three times, and I was actually positively impressed with how it looked.

I saw the same one at the same area. A black guy was driving it (not saying he stole or its a ghetto issue).

i saw 2 side by side on 66/50 one w md 30 day tags. i only noticed because i heard somebody yell it was one owner saying cool car to the driver of the other volt, i then floored my turbo diesel F-250 clouding them with smoke. these cars only get 25 miles on a battery charge before they go to gas, its a freaking joke!

If you buy an electric car you're just telling the world that you're a retard (aka an obama supporter).

Twice as expensive as a car in its class.

100 miles per charge.

12 hours to recharge.

Costs more money to recharge than it does to buy gas.

Recharging stations hard to find.

Batteries only last 5 years.

Batteries cost several thousand dollars to replace.

You'd be more "Green" by just buying a used car.

You're retarded.

Kill yourself.

Bring your old ObamaVolt down to Tricky Dick's Used Cars. We'll
give you the best trade in and free hot dogs for all the kiddies.
Look for the red white and blue balloons on Rainbows End Parkway.

Had one behind me on Burke Lake Rd. yesterday during the evening rush.
It's certainly not the most attractive car I've ever seen.
