I want to know what clubs have actual decent regular comedians. If any.

And preferably a place I can get into without effort, so no DC Improv.

The only comedy place I've even seen around here is that Sports comedy thing in Ballston mall, if that's even still around.

Jammin Java in Vienna sometimes has a comedy thing listed, but I heard it sucks.

I've been to the Wiseacres Comedy Club once. The first person (also that day was the main announcer as well) sucked. Some jewish lady with really bad jokes about jewish people. The second guy that went on was damn funny. He wrote a book about THE Bachelor or something. Pretty good. The last lady (the headliner) was pretty good but she seemed to get off on tangents and had to struggle to get back where she was all the time. Apparently she's been on Comedy Central and such but I've never heard of her. I thought I saw something about a comedy club out in the Chantilly area but I could be wrong. Can't quite remember.

Also as for Wiseacres, it's in Tysons Corner. Thats one of the jokes the main lady talked about. She said she tried mapquesting tysons corner and got nothing. She didn't realize it was an unofficial name of the town. Then she went off on a tangent about how people brag about the malls we have here and how big they are. "Did you see the mall??"

You totally just talked me out of trying wiseacres. I hate super-local humor.

Yeah...it's pretty lame. Most of the people they get I assume are most likely fairly local. although she was from NY or NJ or some shit. Either way she sucked.

Sadly, Wiseacres is closed. A victim of the recession.

It wasnt that good. Mike Diesel was very funny, but he was one of the few really good acts there. Iprov DC is your alternative.
