After watching tonight's game I have to wonder what the HELL was Wade Phillips thinking? He made some of the most moronic personnel decisions in tonight's game. Even after Romo was out, why the hell play Julius Jones, Whitten and Austin? What an idiot!

Oh, and good for the Redskins!

As much as people like to bash Joe Gibbs, he is the only coach since Joe Gibbs 1 to get the team into the play-offs twice. I think the Redskins looked pretty damn good. They should be able to crush the pathetic Seahawks who play in the pathetic NFC West. Then, I think the Redskins have a really good chance of beating Dallas or Greenbay (Tampa could pose a problem).

We shall see.

I have a sneaking suspicion your team will be seated on the bench after next week. One and done is my prediction. Seattle is a very loud and difficult place to play as evidenced the the Redskins last playoff appearance and subsequent loss.

I imagine the Redskins have beaten the spread several times this year. Casinos only need to be right 51% of the time to make their money.

As for Seattle, with the exception of the year Shaun Alexander was MVP, the team has suffered in the playoffs because it is in a weak division. Keep in mind that no team in the NFC East had a losing record this year (Philly went 8-8). Compare that to the NFC West where Seattle was only one game ahead of the Redskins yet played in a division that featured the Cardinals (8-8), the 49ers (5-11) and the Rams (3-13). Half of Seattle's wins came from beating the sorry-ass teams in its own division. Seattle's wins included awful teams like the Bears, the Bengals and the Ravens while it managed to lose against such "winners" as the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans and Philly when they were playing like shit.

Seattle will not only lose to the Redskins. They will be crushed.

Now Tampa Bay, Green Bay or a vengeful Dallas/Giants might be a different story. But Seattle will not win.

WashingToneLocian,

Re: Seattle, your reply was thoughtful.

True, if you examine Seattle's record, it is not impressive.

I believe 3 or 4 pts. is about right - considering the short week, home field, and long travel the visitors must overcome. These factors do indeed play a role.

Many pundits will pick the Skins outright.

The game will most likely be very close.

ok so who do the Skins play at QB then? Campbell who appears to be over rated and or unseasoned or COllins who has come in and clicked instantly with the offense after 10 lonely years on the bench with barely a snap or a start? Sure the skins have apparently won before with uh Mark Rypien and doug uh doug uuuuh yeah those guys who won and then were DONE the next year. Is Campbell the qb of the future or a bench warming backup for some other team in the making?

Campbell - that's the huge elephant in the room.

Is it just a coincidence that JC goes down and the Skins start winning? Those that argue that there is no cause/effect could be accused of being in denial.

JC led the team to what, a 5- 7 record. Collins is .... 4-0.

When JC returns, he must play at the level of Collins (something he rarely did), or he will be on a very short career path in this town.

It's very possible that the new Skins QB for next year is Mr. Collins.

Casinos do not lose money on sports betting. They will sometimes pay out more than taking in on certain games but that is very rare. They have a vig or charge attached to all bets of at least 5%. If too much money is bet on one team then they have oddsmakers who will raise or lower the point spread to adjust bets the other way.

Collins will be the starter next year. He knows how to run Al Saunders' offense. The problem with Campbell is he thinks he is still in college and waits for a receiver to break lose. Saunders has a timing-based offense that depends on a QB to know which receiver to throw to based on the the coverage he sees from the defense. Saunders 700-page playbook probably consists of 70 plays and 10 pages of defensive variations for each play. Collins has memorized the book. Campbell hasn't.

I'm impressed!
This team looks completely different with Collins behind center. Other teams are a little worried now. People don't want to say it, but there is definitely a QB controversy. There's zippy chance of Campbell playing, no matter how healthy he is, unless Collins goes down.

Also, I think Pastor Gibbs has changed in the last few weeks. He finally understands that you can open up the run game by passing downfield. He took so much abuse (myself included) after the 2 timeout game, he appears to have let loose and become more aggressive.

Seattle will be loud (though most of it is played through their PA system and not the fans), so hopefully the Skins are practicing the silent snap this week. They should be able to beat the Seahawks.

I agree with most of your post until you said we would 'crush' the seahawks. Remember what happened two years ago? It's hard playing up there in that cold and usually rainy climate.

And Tampa is a fucking joke, we turned the ball over 6 times and still almost won, and they play in the easiest division known to man. Plus they are only 10-6, we are 9-7, we'd have the better record if it wasn't for a few lousy turnovers.

The Redskins lost to Seattle two years ago because Portis was nursing an injury and Brunell was gimpy so he couldn't throw worth shit. On top of it, Shaun Alexander was MVP of the league that year and Seattle dominated the NFC most of the season and went in as the #1 seed. Alexander isn't the running back he used to be, which makes Hasselback less of a QB since the run isn't as much of a threat.

The reason why I talk about crushing Seattle is because the team gave up 40+ points to the pitiful Atlanta Falcons. You might say, "Well, it's because Seattle didn't play its starters all game." Yes...on Offense. On Defense the First Team played the entire game and they got burned by Chris "Who the Fuck?" Redman.

I will be in vegas during the game and will betting for the skins to win.

I also took out a $10.00 doller bet for the skins to win the superbowl this year, thats 30-1 odds. pays $310.00.. While i don't think they can get past the patriots, they are looking better every day.

my prediction? Skins win the super bowl. They trounce the Patriots 14-3. skins defence holds brady to 50 yards passing and no TD's and running game to just 5 yards.

To ferfux--get your crystal ball tuned up.

To Economist-Ask Pittsburg if they think the Bucs are a joke now and your operative words were "ALMOST WON" Just like yesterday. Here is a Universal LAW for you There is no such thing as second best its called FIRST LOSER. Now the FORESKINS can come home and watch real football until February

To TheMeeper- You usually rock or own the rest of these lamers but if you think Sean "I'm Still Dead" Taylor equates with the KING you need to go back on Lithium cocktails for as long as it takes to recover your ability to kick ass.

Finally the mediocre performance at best by the FORESKINS yesterday was indicative of their coaching and on field abilities all season, they have SUCKED, still SUCKED and will always SUCK.
