Possession of Marijuana

Within my family member just got arrested with possession of marijuana. It is first offence, did not go to jail (released with summon). What could be the sentencing??

Sorry to tell you this, but he'll probably get the death penalty. They'll probably deport his family as well due to their poor command of the English language.

GET A LAWYER, There can be severe consequences if there is evidence of other wrong doing.

your "family member" can go to jail for a first offence if the judge feels like they deserve it. A good attorney can possibly arrange a plea for a lower charge.
It also depends on what other evidence they have collected. If the "family member" was also arrested with a pipe or multiple bags divided for sale expect more charges or harsher sentence.


Get the best lawyer you can afford because sadly a bad day in court with a callous judge can lead to jail time for pot.

30 days max unless it was some huge ammount. I would rather do the 30 days than the year of meetings and piss tests that they offer as a plea deal.
