Dumpster rentals
Posted by: wendyq ()

I need to rent a dumpster in Fairfax sometime this month - I have looked into 1-800 Junk, it seems to be a little steep but I don't know what the general price range is for this business. Just wondering if anyone knows other companies in the area or has other suggestions. I'm looking to compare price with 1-800 Got Junk.

I just need to get rid of a bunch of crap in my house, hence the need for a dumpster rental.

Old mattresses, furniture, some lawn clippings and miscellaneous. I'm getting this done for my mother, if you're offering to personally do it it's appreciated but I'm sure you'll understand she'd be iffy about *anyone* coming up to her house that wasn't from a reputable company, you know?

I got a 40 yard roll off for a month for around 250 a few years ago.

Perhaps you could call one of the local trash companies? AAA, comes to mind. Or maybe American.

Honestly I forget the company. I did a search and called around a bit to find the best deal. If I remember right there was also a charge if you went over a certain weight, I think it was a ton or two. Here is a link to get you started...

40 yard is a huge dumpster. I think 30 yards are the most common

I saw a deal at Home Depot with a collapsible trash bin that's huge. Think it was something like $150 and you fill it up and they come and haul it away for you. There was a display near the contractor's check out. useful if you don't need the huge behemoth of a dumpster but a few large trash cans won't work.

Here's the site for the company...http://www.thebagster.com/

I understand completely. I have a handyman business and I like to clean out places. I recycle what I can, fix up stuff to donate to Goodwill, Salvation Army etc and trash the rest.

do you have any contact info? I'll keep you in mind. Is what you do more of a "do things for acquaintances" thing or more of a business thing?

If you can rent or borrow a truck, you can unload trash for $60/ton at the West Ox Road facility. You must be a resident of the county, but your Mom certainly qualifies if you aren't.

I had some work done on my house and went to the station with the guys doing the work to dump trash. I think recyclable metal is free too (I once got rid of a damaged cast iron deck chair).

Good luck,
Rick

The Bagster seems to be too prohibitive on what you can throw in there...

Just rent a medium sized U-Haul van. Make several trips if necessary. Unless you are emptying an entire house of its contents, I could not imagine needing a roll off dumpster.

Just throw it on the side of the road like everyone else.

Wait to Rent the Uhaul.
Drive the Uhaul home.
Load the Uhaul.
Take to dump.
Unload uhaul.
Repeat.
Last run?
Go get gas before turning it in.

Hmmm....
Or get a 20cu yd dumpster for 30 days of loading, then a sweaty, thick neck fat nigger comes to pick it up.

Survey says: “dumpster!”

We used one from Waste Management when we moved offices, but that was about 20 years ago.
