Lanigan is a good guy that did some dumb stuff when he was younger.
He really paid hard for his past mistakes when that girl falsely accused him. Could have happened to almost anyone.

The man has not been able to recover his legal fees, he was jailed for NO reason, he had his reputation thrown in the toilet, and he was victimized by an unscrupulous cop who cared more about putting someone in the can than the truth. Had one girl who was there not had the guts enough to finally say "None of this happened" this guy could have been in jail for thirty years because of a lie. As it is, yes his life is better since he isn't in JAIL and is back to work, albeit at another job, but this kid's lies have cost him over 100k.

He's not out of work. Just because his current school no longer has a position for him and he's received notice of that, his contract still guarantees him a job within the county school system. Sure, it might mean that he might have to commute all the way across the county for his next assignment, but it would still mean work for him. If he's apparently searching for work (apparently in Fauquier County), then he's doing it through his own motive. The FCPS will take care of him - he just needs to keep his eye on the list of positions that are open or opening and get his name in the hat.
