Not another damn tint discussion.

lol, i was thinking the exact same thing, this is my least favorite thread topic of all time.

someone should gather all the window tinting info and put it on the wiki page, so that we can direct people to it every time it comes up

What is the point of tinting your windows? Unless you are doing something illegal in your car that you don't want people to easily see. And if that is the case, then tinting your window will probably just bring more attention to your car.

My windows are tinted (legally) for my comfort. Reduced glare and a cooler interior in the warmer mos. are a couple of reasons. I have others...

Yeah I love being able to look in my rear view mirror at night at a pair of headlights behind me and not having to squint.

Hmmm, only criminals have their windows tinted huh. I guess those that are against govt surveillance must've something to hide.

Uh...nice try, but auto safety glass does not shatter to create jagged, menacing shards. The tempered glass used in side and rear windows breaks into dull-edged pebbles which are relatively harmless. If anything, window tint could make rescue in the event of an accident more difficult as it may prevent easy access to the occupants.

I created a wiki page for this: Car window tint

in the future, just point them to the wiki.

Looks like you have used some of my good information from past posts on the matter -

Don't forget the window tint medical waivers:

Well, i've seen what that 'dull' tint can do - maybe not life threatening, definately not pretty though... (image getting hit in the eye)

Usually it is closeted gay men that have tint so nobody can see them doing their thing when they pick up strangers for trysts. A neighbor of mine who is a LEO told me that whenever there is suspicious activities going on in parking lots late at night, etc. 9 times out of 10 it is a married guy having random trysts with another guy away from home so the wifey doesn't find out. It makes me laugh every time I see a dude with tint. So, wives, if your husband tints, he is probably a homo.
