Was passed today by two Dulles Flyer Taxi's # 46 & # 783. I was doing 65 and they shot past me doing at least 75. A FFX County unmarked Sitting by the exit at the Air & Space Museum just let them go by. Either FFX has a deal going with Dulles Flyer or that is one lazy ass cop.

I don't recall having ever seen a Dulles Flyer taxi pulled over. Anywhere. I travel the toll road and 28 daily. For years.

These guys are a menace. Multiple stories, but here's one from this morning.
Slammed on his breaks at a light on 606 (just turned yellow). The car behind skidded to avoid hitting him. The cab was in one of two left turn lanes. Well he actually wanted to go straight, rather than turn. He waited for the green turn signal to cycle and the guy behind had to back up and go around.
The guy literally didn't know what lane he was in.

WHy are taxi drivers, people who get paid to drive and could otherwise be called "professional drivers" always the WORST drivers? Cannot stand them.

It's probably because, when writing a ticket for a commercial taxi driver, a lot of extra paperwork is involved and the taxi company will complain endlessly, and the cop doesn't want to have to deal with all that. Same goes with pizza delivery drivers too.

I dunno about if the "fix" is in with the cops and the Flyer Cabs - but I do remember that when the drivers did a strike once (some sorta contract negotiation), the the State Police sent like a cpl hundred troopers to break it up all Pinkerton-style a cpl years ago.................
