Is he so gone he doesn't realize you cannot call back to back timeouts? Take the honorable way out and leave at the end of the season.

well I knew that stupid "ice the kicker" thing would come back and bite a coach well Joe you cost the Skins the game and the chance (slim) for a playoff spot. Stick to coaching left turns and get out of the game, it has passed you by. Regards,

It was dumb, but lets be honest the kicker woulda made it reguardless of the penalty. And if the Redskins couldn't win with emotion on their side and the defense could not step up for him, they didn't deserve to win. But after the loss of Sean Taylor, who the hell really cares anymore. The Redskins have lost 4 in a row, 4 in which they arguably should of won all of them. This team just doesn't have the heart, you got to give Gibbs credit for keeping this mediocre team in games. They've all been for the taking, but at this point I think the roster needs to be re-evaluated, or maybe one big aquisition on offense. Where the hell were the Redskins when it came to getting TO or Moss.

Oh another one saying the redskins are the best 5-7 team in the league. Yea right, the franchise sucks from owner, coach to players.

50+ yarders are never automatic, and it was raining and the ball was wet. Even though he hit the "practice" kick, anything could have happened especially with a wet field. Bad snap, whatever. Turning 51-yard attempt into a 36 yard attempt helps things for the other team certainly.

Doesn't matter if Joe's there or not, this ain't a winning bunch. Get Brady or Manning and maybe you'll have a chance (resurrecting Lombardi wouldn't hurt either). Been way too long since this crew's been a contender (wildcards don't count) and it ain't the coaches fault.

I disagree.
I was so excited when I heard coach Gibbs was coming back. And now I can't wait to see him go. He's the captain of the ship and therefore responsible for making the right calls and for the discipline of the players. Forget the 700 page playbook, they can't even get the basic fundamentals down.

Back in the day, if a player fumbled, the coach made the guy carry a football with him all day long or all week long. Gibbs is so afraid of hurting peoples feelings that he can't get anything done. He tries to get players and coaches in his own image and now, as a result, we have a bunch of christian divas that are too empathetic to the other team to put them away.

Most teams would salivate at the thought of playing against a rookie QB, but the Redskins feel sorry for him and think "oh, this is his first game in the NFL, lets go easy on him".

I've reached the end of my tether with Gibbs, Al Saunders, Vinny Cerato and Bubba Tyre. It's time to get some young blood in here. Someone that understands modern football and is much more aggressive.

You're blaming the trainer, too? I don't think fitness is this team's problem; it's more to do with poor playing calling and horrible execution.

My point is that they've gone through Turner, Schottenheimer, Spurrier, etc and haven't much success. They need an ace guy like Bobby Bethard back controlling the draft.

The problem isn't the coaches and it isn't the players. It is Dan Snyder. Period.

He can't keep from meddling in the team. That's why you have too many coaches. That's why when you do have a coach who looks like he can turn around the team - Schottenheimer - he gets fired because he wants to run the ball instead of throwing the ball and using Jeff George over future Super Bowl winner Brad Johnson. That's why the team trades away people like Champ Bailey and Ryan Clark and replaces them with overpaid flops like Brandon Lloyd and Adam Archuletta. That's why your backup for a recently deceased future Hall of Fame safety is a 6th round draft pick from a I-AA school (no offense to Doughty. I think he did a decent job given the circumstances, but c'mon).

Snyder is the problem. Period.

Actually, Brandon Lloyd is now a probowler. Jason Campbell looks good in Oakland. HAynesworth will be a Pro Bowler again in NE, Carol Rogers will play well with his new team, etc... The list could go on and on. The problem is with the coaches that Snyder hires. HE either hires control freaks who nobdoy can get along with - Shottenheimer (there's a reason he's in the UFL right now), Shannahan ( there's a reason that Shannon Sharpe didnt mention Shanahan by name during his HOF speech the otehr night), or he hires guys who dont have what it takes to cut it in the pros like Gibbs (95 yeard old), and Spurrier (college coach). That is it. If Snyder could find the right guy, then everything would be fine. He should go and hire Jon Gruden. That would be a heck of a hire. Shannahan was only good in Denver because he had Elway and they were cheating the salary cap. Skins suck.
