How bad is 1-66 on a Saturday night?

I have to drive up to Leesburg next Saturday and leaving Richmond around 5 PM. I wanna take 234 thru Mannasas then to 1-66 up 15 North.

Is that doable?

Um, excuse me but Richmond is the eptiome of culture and sophistcation. Little Leesburg is a hick town.

Why not take US17 at Fredericksburg to 29 to 15? You'll bypass the whole mess...

The route you are taking is perfectly fine. You will avoid a lot of lights going that way and it is fairly direct. You shouldn't have any trouble with traffic Saturday night taking that route.

Hi Meade,

Just out of curiousity, does anyone show up at these coffee house gigs of yours?It just seems like an awfully long drive for you just to get some unwelcomed glances and a couple of free lattes. I wonder if they sell more coffee so that the people there can stay awake while you're on stage?

Do you get to bring your dog on stage with you while you are playing piano?

Meade, do the right thing and on your way stop in Manassas and stay there. Believe me you will feel like you are in Richmond minus the stupid avenue of statues.

How did you know it was me?

I drive anywhere within a few hours drive radius to play. A lot of folks seem to enjoy it. I always make lots of tips and folks are right friendly. Leesburg is the area I grew up. It will be nice to see home folks again.

17 goes out too far, really. The shortest rt to me seems 234 to 65-15. When I took 17 it took me 2 hrs and 15 min to get to Leesburg.
