Why do we have so many asians in Centervile? I can't go to the supermarket without getting a dent in my car. Those people can't drive and I herd they don't need to taken driving test in order. They should learn how to drove and we have way to Many asians at Centervile

Asians keep to themselves, the girls are incredibly hot, they are quiet to live next to, don't contribute to local crime scene , work hard and have a culture of education.
Of course they ARE horrible drivers, not only on the road , but parking lots as well.
Even as walkers or shopping cart operators they have no concept of personal space , or staying out of the way of others.
There is a Chinese guy I work with that has no public restroom ettiquite, he sits in the stall next to you when there are others available, grunts and doesn't courtesy flush.
But as immigrants, they are certainly superior to the Latins , who rape, rob ,and molest, seemingly have no desire to educate their children , and most of the time don't even take the time to register themselves according to U.S. immigration laws.

I work with an asian who also has no concept of personal space. If we walk side by side he'll bump into me at least 3 times or "drift" over in front of me. No wonder his car is all dented up.

i have lived in centreville for 8 years. i've seen much change since i moved here. more and more of them everywhere. i have to say i dont mind. they're like those asian beetles that are everywhere. they dont bother you as long as you dont bother them. poke one of them and they'll stink up your life.

one week i had several driving incidences with asians and one of them was just the icing on the cake. so i stopped and accosted the korean male driver. he jumped out of his car and came up to my window and gave me an earful...i didn't know what to do. i didn't expect that, usually they just give you that dumb ass squint-eyed look like you're invisible and drive on.

Koreans may generate a lot of revenue but they rarely spend their own money outside of their own community. There used to be a Centreville Korean Phonebook, They use Korean, Plumbers, mechanics, grocery, restaurants, Dry Cleaners (Lol), accountants, lawyers, doctors etc etc etc...

Like I said, Asians can be racist too. And I don't just mean poking fun at little things (driving, etc). Shocking I know. But don't let that get in the way, much easier to blame those racist white folks.

You have a point, but let's keep things in perspective and look at the big picture. There are a number of different factors at play.

I have a Hispanic lady clean my home and an Asian lady do my nails.

Being a 2ng generation Korean living here I can tell you we do that because every time we make the mistake of using a non-Korean service or going to a non-Korean business, we more often not get cheated or overcharged because of our parents' unfamiliarity with the culture/language. Even large company's that one would generally feel confident about ordering services from or things that you normally wouldn't get screwed for (cell phone service) seem to happen to a giant majority of Korean, and I can imagine other non-English speaking immigrant demographics.

I handle all of those kinds of affairs in my family now and since then there hasn't been a single issue on whether a bill got paid, misc. charges showing up on said bills and other general faggotry people whom have lived here for awhile think they can pull over on 1st generation immigrants.

There have been countless times even when I was younger where bills got sent to debt collectors or services got shutoff because "payment was never received" and after speaking with me they magically "discovered" that some one in a million hiccup caused the company in question to find the payment on their records after all!

So it's really your own faults that Koreans tend to only trust Korean businesses or at the least Korean speaking representatives of other companies. Also, since Koreans actually look out for each other as a community and a race we generally hook each other up instead of screwing ourselves over (mostly, there are exceptions as always) and have been quite prosperous as a result...a lesson others could learn from.

Thanks for the perspective! I never looked at it that way. Humans are inherently greedy and self-serving so itys not just Asians, this happens to poor people in the very same manner. Abuse those who are incapable of defending themselves, be it language, mental capacity, senility, inability to financially support a defense, etc.

While this all makes sense, there is still a deeper-rooted tendency for folks in this country to self-segregate.

Keeping things in perspective is one thing, but the person who started this thread & the comments that followed are far from the clear perspective. No one is arguing that the world is full of racists, Koreans not excluded. And when I say there are hateful racists with low self-esteem , I'm not singling out 'white folks'.

I am a business owner and I treat all with respect. How dare the Korean person make a broad statement that those in the great US are out to get her non-English speaking parents.

I have never charged a different price based on race or any other reason.

This is a valid point, while we have no official language, a person subjects themselves to being taken advantage of when unfamiliar with a regions customs and language. This happens to city folk in the country and vice versa, as one example.

Here in northern VA, the Koreans provide the bulk of the sex trade. In their culture it is an accepted practice. Just check out the noVA section of Backpage or Craigslist. This area is littered with these Korean run massage parlors so to say Koreans are stand up people straight as an arrow is a total bullshit. But then again,it isn't a bad thing if you are looking for some side fun away from the ball and chain LMAO

Prince William County has cracked down on these Korean places as has Loundon county as well. Fairfax still let's it slide as long as the police do not get any citizen complaints or the parlor isn't under some more broader LE scruntiny like human smuggling.

In all likelihood, they entered into contracts for services where they didn't understand what they were getting into. I had to get a relative out of a recurring charge that automatically started to show up on her bank statements. It has nothing to do with race or ethnicity.

Fact of the matter is this… You sympathized with Asians for being insular and reasoned that it partially due to racism, specifically using white racists as an example.

When I pointed out that it’s not only white people who are racist you backtracked. I understand your point and of course everyone knows that not only whites are racist. However, I find it interesting when people think they’re tolerant and open minded while at the same time displaying bigoted opinions based on stereotypes. i.e. racism = white people. Not saying you would do that, but you came pretty close. ;-)

I'm a second generation Korean myself. When my parents first came to the states 20 years ago they experienced the same thing as anon's where they get ripped off because of their limited English. They've taken some classes since and can speak at basic conversational level but still not totally fluent on some technical stuff so because of this and their initial experiences they ask me on occasion to translate when they deal with some business stuff. Can't blame them, it's money. Plus it's not easy learning English at age 40+ as an immigrant (English is really an intricate language). I disagree with anon's post though because there are some Koreans who will pull the same shit to other fellow Koreans. Humans look out for themselves, that's life. IMO I think it's pretty dumb to stick to strictly Korean services.
