im just impressed someone inside the government hierarchy is willing to admit that they arent enforcing laws. i hate the "it's not our responsibility" bullshit from lower level in the government about illegal immigration and yet they support inane traffic ticketing.

Baloney? Check out housing prices in Prince William County these days compared to other counties that haven't been in the national news. The outside perception of Prince William County is that it is over-run with illegal immigrants and the Klan. That can only hurt efforts to attract employers and new residents.

Baloney? Check out housing prices in Prince William County these days compared to other counties that haven't been in the national news. The outside perception of Prince William County is that it is over-run with illegal immigrants and the Klan. That can only hurt efforts to attract employers and new residents.

You are making an incorrect corollary. If I am correct, you are stating that the housing prices are slumping because of the passage of laws to remove criminal illegal aliens from Prince William. The most likely cause in the the real estate slump is fewer jobs and unreasonable lending practices by those taking advantage of illegals. Illegal aliens have simply got up and walked away from their homes. In all reality, they should have never been homeowners in the first place. Not because they are illegal, but because many were working short term jobs and relied on inconsistent renters to make mortgage payments. Prince William was hit hardest by this because of the more affordable home prices to begin with that attracted illegal aliens with modest and/or unsteady incomes. This may be a short term problem for Prince William, but in the long term they will probably benefit by not being forced to have as many ESOL teachers and lower crime. All of this will lead to a better quality of life. Who wants to live next to a 4 bedroom house with 13 people in it and 9 cars? I don't care if they are hispanic or not, that is not a good situation to be in when you live in densely populated neighborhoods. By comparison, Fairfax has not passed any measures to remove illegals and their housing market is hardly thriving.

Fairfax has its share of foreclosures too.
I live on the street that has 3 houses up for sale, all three foreclosures, previously owned by hispanics.
