McLean residents pissed off for being grouped with North Arlington.

McLean residents are apparently none too pleased that their pristine ‘burb has had its state Senate representation split in two by redistricting. One of the new McLean districts is the 31st, which also includes most of North Arlington. One resident said it was an “insult” to have their neighborhood lumped in with Arlington. A McLean citizens group is contemplating a lawsuit over the redistricting outcome.

Kind of a BS post. People may think McLean citizens will end up having less influence if the area gets split in half in some redistricting. It's not looking down on people in North Arlington.

And, at the end of the day, people in McLean always seem to get involved in politics, so they'll probably end up with twice as much influence, not half as much.

Hey FUNdummy,

McDonnell vetoed the new redistricting; so, it's back to the drawing board, thus making your thread invalid.

I think being an appendage of Arlington is an insult.”

Uh, Gov. McDonnell initially vetoed the General Assembly’s redistricting plans, but on April 29 approved slightly tweaked versions.
