What were the results of the 50 means 50 campaign?

Usually there is a press release after a big campaign however, maybe the data is still being compiled...

Curious to know the "results" of the efforts vs. time/resources spent...

50/50 Campaign is definitely over. Cars were blasting down the parkway from 267 to 123 last night!!!

Also, anyone get pinched for something on 7100 during the campaign? If so, for what???

4793 speeding tickets were handed out and, by May 3rd, average speed on the Parkway was back to 60.

maybe they oughta focus more on fixing the hillbilly intersections instead of punishing us for driving highway speed on a highway-designed highway, y'know?

I probably would have believed you however, you lost me at "back to 60" for an avg. speed. To avg. 60 mph, many cars would have to go MUCH faster than that. Please cite the source to show this is the case...

And I think in a good way. If only they make people get off their cell phones it would be great.

Yes, you can get a ticket for distracted driving due to talking on the phone while driving.

Though my post was a joke, did you know that the average speed on the beltway is 65?

>>> "...The monitoring of 65,850 vehicles traveling in one direction during a

>>> Beltway in Virginia was 64.6 mph...

since most ppl seem to drive between 50 to 75 MPH on the Pkwy, 60 seems like a reasonable avg speed..................
