While I can't recall my earliest memories, I can without a shadow of doubt say that I have never ridden in a car without a seatbelt. And definitely not since I started driving. It takes two seconds to strap it on, and is WAY LESS hassle than the possible outcome if an accident should occur.

As for the rude comments that others have made. Clearly, you are new to this place. This is where some people feel the need to release the ugly thoughts and comments and jokes that are usually filtered out of common conversation, as they feel they are anonymous and you won't know 'they' said it. Ignore them and they won't bother you. Comment on them, and they'll get worse, much worse. Just look at any of the suicide threads to see proof of that.

I'm sorry this poor sucker got wasted, and I try to avoid the rude comments, but 40K people are killed on the roads of America every year. I can't get too worked up about them all. Hell, I can't even get too worked up about the half dozen or so kids that have bit it near where I live, and I have to see their goddamn memorials everyday.

Now-days, I wouldn't move my car from one parking place to another in the same parking lot without putting on my seatbelt. It's just a habit and I do it without thinking. However, when I was a young buck, and felt invincible, I never wore it. If these circumstances had happened to me then, I would have been in the exact same place as the South Carolina visitor ended up. I guess we are all young and dumb in some phase of our lives. I just think this was a sad situation all around. When these things happen it makes me sick. That's because I drive, on the roads of this area, for a living, so, I see a lot of things happen. I see a LOT of drivers let people in who get stuck in the wrong lane. I also see a lot of drivers refuse to do so! I think their life only has meaning if they can block an unfortunate driver who got stuck in the wrong lane. I see it all, every day, and it really pains me, sometimes. Thanks for your kind responses.

which is why you should ALWAYS wear yr seatbelt. South Carolina vistor is DEE-EEE-AYY-DEE cause he didnt.

You can feel invincible all you want - wont stop the Reaper from taking yr soul to Heaven..........ESPECIALLY if you invite him too, m'man (or lady, I dunno)

cause Reaper aint caring about where he's taking souls these days. More than just on the 66.

Looks like the family members have arrived. Going home to South Carolina - on I66 west? Must have lived in some dump town like Rock Hill or Anderson.

I've become convinced some kind of weird and deep psychology stuff happens when people drive. Let's face it, it's a pretty new thing we do as a species and our brains don't know what to make of it, so all sorts of weird instincts come into play and that causes aggression, selfishness, and anger in a lot of people.

Or he just wanted to avoid 95 south in the afternoon and go around it to the west and hook back up further south, like in Fredericksburg.

Anyways, not wearing a seatbelt feels weird to me now. I can't imagine not putting it on. I think I've not worn one because it was broken or something in a car I was in, but I was definitely very much aware I wasn't wearing my seatbelt and was uncomfortable with the idea.

Hmmm, given the choice between I-66 West and I-95 South in rush hour afternoon traffic, I'll take the sledgehammer to the head, please.

I feel bad for people like the pickup driver at 2:22 who probably got seriously injured or killed because of that idiot.

I can only imagine how fucked up the motorcycle folks are. I was surprised that one guy got up afterward.
