Agreed. Stern is the alpha and omega of radio, but I wanted to put a few more on and see how long it takes O'Meara or the Junkies to come on under fake names and pretend they have ever been relevant

I'm sorry -- Ken Beatrice? Really? Noted fiction writer Ken Beatrice? Sorry, that guy was a tremendous ball of hot gas. Yes,he had good manners, but he made a LOT Of stuff up.

Early Stern -- like early 80s -- was amazing.

And I'll drop my vote in for D&M, back before they all went nuts.

Stern and that's it. I don't know if Cerphe used to be great, but nowadays he's repetitive and boring and uses "cool" way too much as a verbal crutch.

He catches a lot of slack around here but Mike O'Meara is a survivor and one of the longest lasting radio personalities/podcast legends ever!

Didn't take long did it Mike? O'Meara was a remora to Geronimo, who himself sucked. O'Meara failed disastrously once Geronimo's nominal talents were taken away from him. In short the Don and Mike show was a ridiculously bad, live stereotype that provided fodder dor shows like "The Simpsons" to make fun of radio shows with: that's all it was good for. The O"Meara show was good for nothing at all.

Good for 300+ podcasts, over 4 million downloads and one of the areas fastest growing morning radio shows, Jack! A lot more than your dumbass has accomplished.

Early 80s Greaseman was great as was Don and Mike before the FCC got to them. Never been a big Stern fan.

That is not what happened; a lot of people got that wrong and even stern stopped trying to correct it.

What really happened is Stern called Air Florida's 800 # and asked if the 14th St. Bridge would become a "regular stop."

you guys are out of your minds. Howard Stern is garbage. Never laughed at him once.

It goes like this:

1.Don and Mike
2.Ron and Fez (they were local for a while)
3.The Hideout with El Jefe and J-Dubs

WJFK all the way

I warmed up to Big O and Dukes, too. Too bad they broke up. I loved the Snack & Soda show. And what about Rob Spewak's one-night only show "Suck This", which was a take-off of the Cigar Dave show "Smoke This", which was all about cigars. Of course, "Suck This" was all about candy.

and then you have the infomercials disguised as real talk shows, like The Bald Truth, Goss's Garage, and Tech Radio. I'll always remember them. Hey, remember when WJFK would play some kind of Masterpiece Theatre-style radio play on the weekends? Man, that station was NUTS. I sure do miss it.

Fastest growing morning shows, wtf?

If you call sending the AM drive slot on WVRX trending hopelessly downward from a 2.5 to a 1.3 in the "money demo", then yeah, it's growing fast. As for the 300+ failcasts and X million downloads, that and a quarter will get you a phone call!

Mike is a failure anyway you slice it, Jackson!

The Dons and Mikes show on WJFK from '93 to about 2000 the diana silman produced era which had lasting affects a couple years after she departed then don started going to Freda too much for my taste and stopped getting the whacky characters on the show and stopped a lot of the reindeer games

Stern in the WJFK ealry years

Trumbull and Core yeah what of it

Ah Felix Grant and jazz on a lazy summer evening

The "Bama on WPFW

Weasal most definitely not cerphe on the original WHFS before Mr. einstein sold the station
cerphe was long gone by then. i've always viewed cerphe as a slickee boy and no not like the band like in slick and a bit of a phony

Ah ron and Fez

and the Hideout with El Jefe and J Dubs

man that WJFK was the thing for awhile i sure miss that

never got into the Grease till after he left his big time job

I have agree with Mr. Misery and wally pip here, Ron and Fez were my favorite when they were still around. Hell, I subscribed to XM just to hear them. That was truly a great lineup when WJFK had Don and Mike and the Hideout.

80's...remember Adam Smasher? Smash, smash, diggin the smash...

Or remember when Scott Ferrell was on 106.7 (syndicated)? Annoying, but the dude knew his hockey.

Stern and Grease in the 80's were the best though.
