But yeah, it appears to be the same story year after year. Caps come in and throw 10 trillion shots against a hot goaltender but couldn't score on a drunken co-ed. Other team throws rags at ours and scores just one, allowing them to sit back and enjoy the show their goaltender is putting on.

actually i was a fan of the caps since i was a kid in the 90s. I enjoyed going to games when it didnt cost an assload either. But with all the bandwagoners, prices rising due to them and the caps choking everytime they make it to the playoffs, i dont believe theyll win anything until it happens.
If it makes you feel better, im an eagles fan so i know all about putting too much hope/expectation in a team that will choke and lose.
so when you people scream "rock the red" i'll laugh and wonder if they could name 2 people on the team in 2000.

Wideman skated today!
Granted, it was only for 15 minutes, but the medical staff gave him the all-clear to start skating again. Apparently the hematoma and subsequent surgery did not damage the muscle and Wideman could be available as early as the end of next week ... so in other words he'll be good for the next series after we drop-kick the stRangers in 5.

The Caps looked great against the Rangers. Hopefully if they win this series they can keep it up. It was nice to see defenders actually getting their sticks on the puck instead of hanging back and watching the Rangers shoot with impunity. It was also nice to see them have the confidence to crowd the net instead of resorting to that slapshot bullshit you saw so much against Montreal last year.

I've been in those suites before and those tickets are usually distributed to clients. I doubt you'll have a lot of lawyers and lobbyists hanging out in them because the lawyers and lobbyists have given them to clients, who generally bring their kids, employees, etc, who aren't so well-connected.

I've been in those suites before and those tickets are usually distributed to clients. I doubt you'll have a lot of lawyers and lobbyists hanging out in them because the lawyers and lobbyists have given them to clients, who generally bring their kids, employees, etc, who aren't so well-connected.

One of your star players is out due to injury. The other is just a gigantic pussy. Green got hit in the head with a puck and was out for a few games and came back only to get hit in the head again. Missed a couple months. Came back, got hit in the head with a puck AGAIN while blocking a shot and still came out for the 3rd period of that game and isn't likely to miss a beat (slated to start in round 2). Cryboy caught a shoulder to the cheek in the winter classic and one other pussy love tap and he hasn't seen action in what? 3 months at least? And that's your "star"? Yeah, keep clinging to those past cups because with star-power like you've got now it isn't likely you'll see another cup anytime soon.

I think we might get it done this year! Its good that were getting rest for the next round. We will know tonight who were gonna play next. Ovie needs to get some goals going, it would be nice to see a hat trick. Caps goalie is looking good. Overall they are looking to be cup contenders this year. The only thing that the DC area had good is the caps and gtown hoyas.
We will see what the skins, nats, and wiz try to do to get things together because the nations capital needs a championship in one of those sports. It will bring happiness and joy to this Northern Virginia area. We will see what the skins do this years draft coming up on Thursday. I'm gonna stand behind all DC teams!!! With regards to the increasing ticket prices. I've always heard that Leonsis has never turned a profit while owning the caps and they lose money every year. If thats the case, I don't see whats wrong with raising ticket prices.
One game I started sitting in Section 422 row ZZZZ (or whatever). For the second period my buddy got me into the "Players Clubs". After 10 minutes of being in the Players Club, I regretted leaving my original seat. The atmosphere was tone def and boring.
With the exception of sitting directly behind one of the nets, 400 Section seating is the only way to go for maximum game day happiness! .
A lot of people move here from non-hockey areas and become caps fans. As a hockey player/fan who grew up around here, I think its great to see everyone jumping on the band wagon. There are more people to talk to about my sport and its fun teaching them about the game. DC really needs something to help unite the city and I'm glad its the Caps.
The Caps proved they grind out games during the second half of the season and Arnott is great captian by proxy (why Ovie wears a "C" is beyond me) to provide real leadership. They have the tools to win it all. LETS GO CAPS!

No one should sleep on Tampa Bay. Their power play looks like a video game. The Rangers couldn't score, the Bolts can. Caps need to stay out of the box and Neuvy has to continue to be great in order to win this one. Let's go CAPS!

Neuvy needs to work on protecting the top corners and not let pucks bounce off his back and into the net. The bolts can do that shit. That pass from behind the net to win game 7 was fucking epic. It'll be up to our defense more so than our goalie to keep the bolts from taking this series.

I started slowly integrating Caps gear into acceptable office attire and now you see what I wear to work on important game days. Brings all of the other Caps fans out of their shell and allows them to talk about something other than work shit. The beard is the only thing that is difficult to explain to non-hockey fans... especially my patchy, scruffy, sorry-ass excuse for a beard.

1 - No more "Rock the Red", this team's motto is "Rock the Brown"!

i used to say they were the eagles of the nhl, but atleast the eagles got to the nfc championship and choked.

yes, in the 90s. I have yet to see this team get there and lose. Then again they have a smart business plan. Make the team good enough that they sellout, but suck enough to not win the stanley cup. its $$$.

I think he is being humble because he knows that right now he has a 50/50 chance at sticking around or beating feet. I'd like for him to stay and win one, but maybe that isn't meant to be. Maybe his job in Washington was to put the pieces in place for the next guy to coach them to the cup. I don't know, but I hope that we continue to do well and maybe not peter out so early in the post-season next season.
