He's local and does quality work at 50% less than the cost of a performance shop.

His email address is on the site.

High Intensity Discharge. Xenon headlamps. An annoying light style frequently found on beaner cars, low riders, and ricers. It immediately paints you as a loser and a poseur unless it is on a $50k+ vehicle.

Exactly. A HID light is something which appeals to dopey "men" who are obsessed with trying to look cool in their vehicles. Have you ever been driving down the highway when you see -- amongst all the normal white headlights coming towards you -- some fag with blue headlights? Those are HIDs. The idea is "Look at me and see how cool I am!"

And, just as the stereotype would predict, when the OP was asked what kind of car he has, he responds "Honda Civic". :-)

HID or High Intensity Discharge Lamps arent just found on beaner cars, they are obviously installed in all higher end cars Like Mercedes and BMW.

Generally the ones found in Civics and all other cars are ebay kits which fit into a Typical Halogen Headlight Assembly which are not made to reflect the light properly. And for some reason some like the 8000k - 10000k bulbs which are blue and dont offer much viewing distance which i find is retarded.

I own a Civic, I'm not a beaner but do have these bulbs installed, 5000K White since they are so much brighter than standard halogen bulbs and offer way better viewing distance.

Some of the above comments are obviously coming from people who have never had hid/or researched them. Yes, 8k to 12k HIDs (blue - purple) are TOO bright and are more just annoying, as it seems to blind everyone else you pass... but a little lower (say 6k, which is white) are great. Visibility with halogens are TERRIBLE. I repeat, TERRIBLE. Many new cars have HIDs because they are simply put... better. Visibility with HIDS is amazing compared to most halogen (which SUCK). I used to have HID now I have Halogen. I ran across this post when searching for someone to install HIDs on my xterra. When I had HIDs i was always telling friends to turn their lights on, they already were...

A lot of hate for HID bulbs here. Too many people have the wrong impression. In time, these will replace all halogens. They can already be found standard in several mid level cars and an option on cheaper cars. They greatly increase visibility and in turn safety.

The highs turn the night into day and when approaching an oncoming vehicle the lows aren't blinding. Auto manufacturers use something around 4300k or 5000k. It's when you get into aftermarket parts with a number above 8000k or the colored bulbs that the light is annoying.

I love HID lights. I don't have them on the current vehicles, but when I see a car coming, they don't bother me. They look great on a Lexus sedan too.

I should also say that facing an oncoming car where a driver is clueless about dimming their lights is 100 times worse than an oncoming car with HID lights.

HID lights are okay, what the ricers do wrong is cheap out and not change the housing.

If you put HIDs in a halogen housing it will look terrible and blind other drivers.

Only put HID's into projector housings. HID into reflector housings = light spraying all over the place, blinding others, and a failed safety inspection. Do it right and get projector retrofits. Projector lenses focus the beam with a sharp cutoff so it doesn't blind others. That's what the OEM's use.

You'll live in the bush? You must be scared of the dark to require HID lamps in NOVA. Dumbasses will buy into anything.
